Libran Full Moon...

today in Kilmore at 1.25pm.

The Full Moon period is usually a more emotional time than usual when feelings run stronger and are more potent.  This is especially true of this one since it squares the intensely emotional Pluto!

It seems that the current challenge for all of us is to balance these intensely emotional situations and people that are part of our lives right now.

The support of a person or situation represented by the Sun/Mars trine is suggested... so keep an eye out for it... being a trine it may be easy to oversee or underestimate the support that Mars offers through this aspect.

Saturn is also part of this lunation, at zero degrees it suggests a bit of instability in whatever or whoever he represents to you through your birth chart.  The connection to the Moon through the wide conjunction suggests a new emotional start: however, in order to achieve this new start we all have to let go (Saturn) of the past (Moon) in order to achieve a new balance (Libra), this will also help us to achieve objectivity (Full Moon) and find the courage to make those first steps to a new life (Sun in Aries)!

Sun Square Pluto...

starts on March 25 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 26 at 2.45pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 26.  Sun at 5 degrees and 22 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 5 degrees and 22 minutes of Capricorn.

As I have mentioned before, the Sun illuminates and energises whatever it touches, in the this case it is Pluto, the planet associated with intense emotions and transformation.  The square aspect suggests that the Sun is accenting a Plutonian situation or person that we are having difficulty with: however, this aspect also suggests a cross-road and subsequent turning point being reached with it.

By looking at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart you can get an idea of which areas of life and relationships may be playing a part with this aspect: you can also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp), and Pluto (ones with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Capricorn you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on March 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 22 at 11.37am in Kilmore, leaves on March 23.  Sun at 1 degree and 17 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 1 degree and 17 minutes of Libra.

This is a bit of a tough entrance of the Sun into Aries!  However, it does represent an opportunity to make changes that will help us all to reach a turning point in whatever areas of life are represented by these planets within our own birth charts.

The Sun illuminates and energises whatever it touches, and in this case it is retrograde Saturn, the planet associated with responsibility, hard work and restructuring.  The opposition suggests a new level of awareness that will help to reach the turning point that is needed, particularly in the relationships and themes represented by Saturn.

By looking at where this opposition falls, and which houses are ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for which people and areas of life may be due for some attention.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may feel this energy more acutely than others.

Sun enters Aries...

today in Kilmore at 4.32am.

The Sun moving from the dreamy and emotional Pisces into the supercharged, fiery sign of Aries suggests a definite change in pace for the relationships and areas of life represented by Leo in your birth chart (ie, house cusps with Leo on them).  Combine this with the recent movement of Mars in Leo from retrograde to direct, and it seems that we can all expect a burst of activity over the next few weeks while the Sun travels through Aries!

Sun Trine Mars...

starts on March 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 22 at 4.54am in Kilmore, leaves on March 23.  Sun at 1 degree and 00 minutes of Aries, Mars at 1 degree and 00 minutes of Leo.

First all... good news, Mars is finally OFF that zero degrees of Leo!!! That is enough in itself to be celebrating since any planet at zero degrees of a sign seems to be a bit unstable or unsteady (a bit like a baby taking those first few steps).

The Sun trining Mars is a bit like a ray of sunshine connecting with it... highlighting something or someone in a positive way - check to see where the Sun and Mars are in terms of houses to see what this something or someone may be.  You can also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp), and Mars (ones with Aries and/or Scorpio on the cusp) to get a feel for what may be given a positive boost now.

If you have personal planets or points in Aries or Leo then you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Mercury Square Pluto...

starts on March 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 20 at 7.16pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 21.  Mercury at 5 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 5 degrees and 20 minutes of Capricorn.

Mercury, the planet of connection, communication and understanding joining up with the intensely emotional Pluto suggests that we all have the opportunity to reach a deeper understanding of the people and situations represented by these planets.  The square aspect suggests tension, but also a cross-road being reached at the same time.

By looking at which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusps) and Pluto (ones with Scorpio on the cusp) you can get a better sense of where you can expect a bit of tension but also a better understanding.  Also look to see which houses the planets fall in.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Capricorn are likely to be especially sensitive to this energy.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on March 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 18 at 10.04pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 19.  Mercury at 1 degree and 34 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 1 degree and 34 minutes of Libra.

Mercury, the planet of communication, information, and the way we connect with others joining forces with Saturn is likely to put a serious note on the information circulating around us now - particularly regarding a person or situation represented by Saturn that was prominent in the past (Saturn is retrograde).  Saturn also tends to slow down whatever it touches, so you could find that information is slow coming to you (delays in postage, emails, etc).

The opposition suggests a new level of objective awareness and also a turning point in the relationships and situations represented by these planets in your birth chart: oppositions usually mean that there is at least one other person that is part of the developments around this time.

If you look back to when Mercury and Saturn were conjunct, you may get an even better idea of what or who is coming to fruition or a turning point... they were last together around 18 August 2009 (Mercury/Saturn both at 21 degrees of Virgo), around 22 September (Rx Mercury/Saturn at 25 degrees of Virgo); and finally again around 7 October (Mercury/Saturn both at around 27 degrees of Virgo).  Mercury was retrograde back then, hence the triple visit to Saturn.

As usual, you can look to see where this opposition falls in your birth chart, but also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury enters Aries...

today in Kilmore at 3.12am.

Mercury moving from the dreamy, emotional and flexible Pisces into the fiery, brave and go-getting sign of Aries suggests that the people and themes in our lives represented by Mercury will also move from being more placid to being more assertive.

Aries is known for being a reasonably straight-forward and direct sign so while Mercury is travelling though it, it seems that we can expect communication to be more 'what you see is what you get'... however, it will be going retrograde, so we may have to rethink things later on when it does go back over old ground.

As usual, look to see which house Mercury is travelling through and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini and Virgo on the cusps) to get an idea of what or who is likely to become more direct, brave and easier to understand.

If you have personal planets/points in Aries then while Mercury is travelling through your sign it seems that the pace of life will become more hectic than usual.

Mercury Trine Mars...

starts on March 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 18 at 10.33am in Kilmore, leaves on March 18.  Mercury at 0 degrees and 36 minutes of Aries, Mars at 0 degrees and 36 minutes of Leo.

Even though Mars is still stationary as it begins picking up speed in forward motion, we should all begin to see an improvement with the people and situations represented by this planet as time moves on.  The connection with Mercury, the planet of communication, information and change through the trine aspect suggests that we should begin to see at least a bit of the benefit of the months of frustration and delays that retrograde Mars represents.

Both planets are at 0 degrees, suggesting that there is still a degree of instability or uncertainty about whatever or whoever is represented by the current situation.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart, and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on them), and Mars (ones with Aries or Scorpio on them).

If you have personal planets or points in Aries or Leo, then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Sun Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 16 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 17 at 5.50pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 18.  Both at 26 degrees and 34 minutes of Pisces.

As I have mentioned a few times before, the Sun illuminates and energies whatever it touches... the connection to Uranus looks like it will give the themes and people represented by this planet a huge boost - hopefully not an electrical one (Uranus rules electricity)!

Conjunctions are usually something or someone new coming into our lives, and this new thing is likely to be described by which house this conjunction falls in and which houses ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Uranus (ones with Aquarius on the cusp).

Whenever I see Uranus activated in the sky, I generally suggest that it is a good idea to keep an open mind and flexible attitude in order to gain the most benefit of this eccentric energy.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

New Moon in Pisces...

today in Kilmore at 8.01am.

The New Moon is traditionally the time to make a fresh start... usually in the areas of life represented by the house in which the lunation falls.

Pisces represents emotions and change, flexibility and the ability to rise above ego concerns.  Wherever Pisces is in your birth chart is where these themes are prominent, and with this New Moon activating these themes, we all have a chance to make a fresh start with them.

Looking at the chart for the New Moon you can see that Mercury and Uranus are part of the picture... so unexpected information or developments are likely to be part of the picture for all of us.  By keeping an open mind and flexible attitude we should all do well with making a fresh start with the people and situations represented by this New Moon - especially now that Mars is direct (even though he is moving slowly).

Mercury Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 15 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 16 at 8.40am in Kilmore, leaves on March 16.  Both at 26 degrees and 29 minutes of Pisces.

Mercury usually symbolises the way we connect with the world around us, and Uranus usually likes to shake things up a bit (think 'The Tower' from the tarot).  The combination of the two joining forces through the conjunction is very powerful and suggests that we may all receive a bit of a 'shock' (Uranus) of energy through unexpected or unusual news (Mercury).

It is important to remember that the only reason we get a 'shock' is because what we find out or what happens is not what we expect... not necessarily a shock because whatever happens is 'bad'.  Uranus also represents liberation and freedom, so the situations and people that are prominent now may offer an opportunity to take hold of these qualities.

Look to see where this conjunction falls in order to get a feel for where you could benefit from keeping an open mind.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusps), and Uranus (ones with Aquarius on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, you may be particularly sensitive to this transit.

Sun Conjunct Mercury...

enters on March 13 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 15 at 12.16am in Kilmore, leaves on March 16.  Both at 23 degrees and 50 minutes of Pisces.

The Sun acts as a trigger and 'beam of light' on whatever it touches as it travels through the sky, and the connection with Mercury suggests that the people and themes represented by this planet will be under the spotlight.

By looking at where Mercury is in your chart, and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusps) you can get a feel for what or who will be in focus during this conjunction.  The conjunction aspect also offers the opportunity for a fresh start, so it seems that we all have the chance to do something a bit different with this energy combination.  The energy from the Sun is likely to help us see what needs to change... the Mercury retrograde period is coming up in a few weeks, so we'll have a chance to review and make changes to these matters then.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Venus Square Pluto...

enters on March 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 12 at 4.36am in Kilmore, leaves on March 13.  Venus at 5 degrees and 14 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 5 degrees and 14 minutes of Capricorn.

Intensity!  That's the first thought that came to my mind when I thought about this aspect, especially in the fiery Aries and structured Capricorn.

Venus is about the way we attract what we want into our lives, and also represents our values, women, affection, pleasure and fertility.  Pluto transforms whatever it is involved in and usually evokes quite a strong emotional response.  The combination of these two energies via the square suggests tension because the energies are working at odds with each other (both planets are in cardinal signs so both want to be 'boss'!).  I feel that Pluto is the stronger of the two, so Venus will most likely have to do the compromising.

By looking at where this square is happening in your birth chart you can get a feel for where you have the opportunity for a turning point.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp), and Pluto (ones with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets or points in Aries and/or Capricorn you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mars goes Direct...

today in Kilmore at 4.09am.

Yippppeeeee! At long last Mars is finally started to move forwards again, meaning that life won't be as frustrating and annoying on a daily basis as it has been (for me anyway - I have Taurus Rising).

Mars has been retrograde since December last year: this planet is associated with high energy, ego, getting what we want (and how we get it), physical activity, and lots more.  While it was retrograde, it may have felt as though progress just wasn't happening as it should have.

Thankfully, this planet is now moving forwards again, although you'll probably find that progress won't be back to normal speed for at least a few weeks (while it begins to move forward it takes a while to pick up to a normal speed).  So, if you personal planets or points in Aries, Scorpio and/or Leo you will probably feel this energy quite strongly: the other fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius) will probably appreciate the move of Mars from retrograde to direct as well!

Venus Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

enters on March 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on the same day at 7.21pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 10.  Venus at 2 degrees and 16 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 2 degrees and 16 minutes of Libra.

Venus, the planet of relating, our values and pleasure connecting with Saturn, the planet of responsibility, structure and hard work doesn't seem like a good combination.  However, it can be good for us in terms of helping us to be realistic and able to work towards what we want to enjoy in our lives and helping us to develop the skills we need to relate successfully.

The opposition is about awareness, and may relate to a person or situation that came into your life when Venus and Saturn were last conjunct back in mid October 2009 at about 28 degrees of Virgo (incidentally about the same time Mars entered Leo!).  What is happening now also represents a turning point in these matters.

As usual, look to see which houses are involved by looking at where this opposition is happening, as well as which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on them), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on them).

If you have personal planets/points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to feel this aspect more strongly than other people.

Mars Square Retrograde Pluto...

starts on August 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on August 4 at 2.58pm in Kilmore, leaves on August 6.  Mars at 3 degrees and 11 minutes of Libra, retrograde Pluto at 3 degrees and 11 minutes of Capricorn.

This aspect is basically happening at the same time as the previously discussed Mars/Jupiter Opposition, so suggests an especially powerful time for all of us.

Looking at this aspect on its own, it suggests a pretty serious clash of energies that will test the way we use power, and also show us just how far others are will to go in using theirs.  It is important to keep your own actions honourable during this time, regardless of what others chose to do, particularly since it may feel as though you are being provoked in certain areas of your life!

As is usually the case look to see where this aspect is falling to get an idea for what or who may be at cross-purposes in your life, and where power issues will need to be handled with care.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mars (one with Aries on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Capricorn you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Venus enters Aries...

today in Kilmore at 11.33pm.

Venus, the planet of love and relating moving from the gentle Pisces into the fiery Aries is certainly a major shift in focus!  With this planet in Aries it seems that we will all be more forward in trying to attract what (or who!) we want... it is also likely that we could act before we think.  Of course, this can be a good thing sometimes, but it is important to be aware of this tendency anyway.

By looking at which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusps), we can get a feel for what or who is about to become more active in our lives.  For example, I have Taurus Rising, so I should feel a bit more motivated than I have been over the last few weeks and energetic... thank goodness!

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on March 7 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 8 at 12.45pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 9.  Both at 11 degrees and 34 minutes of Pisces.

This is a lovely meeting of planets that should bring at least a better state of mind regarding the people and matters represented by them in your birth chart!

Mercury represents many things, including young people, news, short trips, communication in general, siblings and our attitude to life in general; Jupiter represents opportunity, growth (sometimes too much!), learning and what brings meaning to our existence.

The conjunction is usually something or someone new, and carries the quality of being unconscious or unaware of the future potential of this new person or thing.  The Mercury/Jupiter combination promises something that will brighten our frame of mind and increase our optimism for the future.

As usual, look to see which house this conjunction is falling in to get an idea of where something new may come up for you, and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on them), and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on them).

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, then this conjunction is likely to be especially important for you.

Venus Trine Retrograde Mars...

starts on March 7 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 8 at 6.15am in Kilmore, leaves on March 9.  Venus at 0 degrees of Aries, retrograde Mars at 0 degrees of Leo.

With Mars currently retrograde and basically stationary as it prepares to go forwards again, it seems that Venus has an unfair advantage over him!  Venus is about relating, our values and attracting what or who we want, and with Mars currently in this position it seems that it will be easier than usual to get what we desire (the trine aspect tends to remove barriers).

Both being at zero degrees of signs suggests a feeling of instability to the situations we are facing at the moment... look to see which houses the planets fall in, and also which houses are ruled by them to get a feel for what or who may be 'getting together'.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Leo then this aspect is likely to be felt especially well by you.

Documentary about astrology...

I was browsing through the web and found this site.. the trailer for this documentary looks excellent and involves many respected astrologers such as Robert Hand.  Go here to have a look.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Venus Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 4 at 3.07pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 5.  Both at 25 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces.

Venus, the planet of fun, relating and enjoyment connecting with the wild Uranus is a bit of a weird combination, but I suppose life is weird sometimes anyway!  Uranus is usually a bit of a wildcard, an energy that doesn't give us what we expect.

The conjunction usually represents something or someone new coming into our lives... by looking at which house the conjunction falls in, plus which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus and/or Libra on the cusp), and Uranus (Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for what or who may be coming into our lives.  Whatever or whoever it is, it is likely to take us on an unexpected journey full of surprises!

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, then this conjunction is likely to be especially important to you.

Mercury enters Pisces...

today in Kilmore at 12.28am.

Mercury moves from the intellectual and fixed sign of Aquarius into the more emotional and flexible sign of Pisces today... suggesting that the people and situations represented by Mercury in your birth chart will tend to be more 'Piscean' during this stay.

For example, I have Virgo on my 4th and 5th House cusps, so I would expect family members and domestic concerns to be easier to negotiate with... children and people at home are less likely to be as stubborn as they have been recently: however, they are likely to be less rational as well!

As a general theme though, Mercury travelling through Pisces suggests a dreamy mental trend, where creativity is accented.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Virgo Full Moon...

today in Kilmore at 3.38am at 9 degrees and 58 minutes of Virgo.

The period around a Full Moon is usually one that offers the opportunity for a new level of awareness, understanding and through this, a turning point in regards to the areas of life, and relationships affected by it.

By looking at where this lunation falls in your birth chart you can get a feel for where these opportunities are for you.

The Virgo influence suggests that by paying attention to the details that come to you now and also being flexible and practical that you have the best opportunity to work through the issues that you face at this time... the Full Moon period is traditionally an emotional one, so by applying a practical approach you may be able to work through emotional stuff more easily than usual.

The support of Pluto is shown, even though this support is a mild sextile, it is still there: so look to see where you can get support in your own birth chart by seeing where Pluto is and which house it ruled by this planet (or whatever you want to call it!).
