Final posting for now....

I have not been able to post for some time now due to a chronic health issue, and now for a good reason as well... I am pregnant!

There are a lot of medical appointments that I need to attend so something has to go in terms of my workload, so it seems that it is time to say goodbye to this blog, for now anyway, once things settle down I may be able to take it up again.

Thanks for reading my blogs and I hope you enjoy reading my forecasts on my main site at www.astrologyrealm.com!

Venus enters Cancer...

on July 4 at 2.17pm in Kilmore.

Venus moving from the changeable and talkative Gemini, into the emotional and motivated sign of Cancer suggests that the people and situations represented by this planet will also become more emotionally drive and motivated to change.

For example, if you have Taurus or Libra on your second house cusp, then you will probably be more motivated than usual to earn money, possibly in order to spoil your family!

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer then this is likely to be a lovely time for you... apart from a few minor hiccups when Venus connects with the outer planets through hard aspects.

Venus Trine Retrograde Neptune...

starts on July 4 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 5 at 3.26am in Kilmore, leaves on July 5.  Venus at 00 degrees and 40 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Neptune at 00 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.

This is a lovely, gentle energy to have happening and suggests that we will have the opportunity to successfully connect with the beautiful Neptunian themes in our lives!

Venus tends to be a easy-going energy and is especially sensitive in the emotional sign of Cancer: the connection to Neptune, an emotional and artistic energy through the flowing trine suggests that there will be a positive connection between the two people or themes represented by these planets in your birth chart.

As usual look at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart to get a feel for what or who will bring a bit of fun and enjoyment into your life.  Also look at which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer and/or Pisces then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury enters Leo...

on July 2 at 3.38pm in Kilmore.

The move of Mercury from the emotional and family oriented sign of Cancer into the more fiery and stubborn sign of Leo suggests a change in the way we are thinking and perhaps dealing with the areas of life and people represented by this planet in our birth chart.

Mercury represents change, but also the way we connect and communicate with the world, and people around us.  Being in a fire sign now and for the next few weeks, Mercury suggests that we are more likely than usual to speak up and need to express ourselves... being in a fixed sign, it seems that we are more likely to stick to our guns, but also be more stubborn and less likely to compromise.  This can be a good thing, but also create difficulties if we take it too far!

By looking at where Mercury is in your birth chart, and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), you can get a feel for where you or someone else, may need to speak up; and also where being determined or even stubborn may be a theme.

If you have personal points or planets in Leo then you can expect the next few weeks to be busier than usual, since Mercury tends to speed things up.

Sun Square Saturn...

enters on July 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 3 at 10.17am in Kilmore, leaves on July 4.  Sun at 10 degrees and 46 minutes of Cancer, Saturn at 10 degrees and 46 minutes of Libra.

The Sun tends to energies whatever it touches and highlights and acts as a 'trigger' for some of the longer term energies that are around.  In this case, the Sun accentuates Saturn.

Because the aspect between the Sun and Saturn is a square, this suggests tension - but a turning point... sometimes the only way we get motivated enough to do something about a situation is when it annoys us enough to do something about it!  That situation that causes us enough annoyance is likely to be something or someone represented by Saturn in our birth charts (look to see where it is travelling, and also which houses have Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp to get an idea).

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by the planets in order to get a feel for what, or who, may need a new attitude or approach.  If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer and/or Libra then you are likely to feel this energy more than others.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Cancer...

on July 1 at 6.54pm in Kilmore at 9 degrees and 12 minutes of Cancer.

Wow... what a line-up!  This eclipse is very important in so many ways that it's hard to know where to start.

The first point, I think, is that this is a New Moon... always an opportunity for a fresh start in the area of life being represented by the house placement of it... in this case 9 degrees of Cancer.  I would even extend this theme to the house cusp with Cancer on it as well... for example you may have 27 degrees of Leo on the MC, placing this New Moon in your 10th... but you may then also have 26 degrees of Cancer on the 11th.  So, I would look at both the 10th and 11th in this case.

Being an eclipse, this is an exceptionally powerful lunation: and opportunity to really make tangible changes to your life because of the outer planet involvement (look at Uranus, Saturn and Pluto!).

Those of you with personal points and/or planets in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and/or Capricorn) may feel that events around this time shift the ground beneath your feet, and set you on a totally new life course.   This will be especially relevant if you have these placements within a few degrees either side of 9 degrees of the cardinal signs.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on June 27 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 28 at 3.19pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 29.  Sun at 6 degrees and 12 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Pluto at 6 degrees and 12 minutes of Capricorn.

Pluto usually represents deeply emotional and illogical areas of our life because the logic associated with the people and situations represented by this planet is so deeply buried.  The Sun touching on Pluto through this brief period of time is quite intense, because it ties in with the eclipse coming up shortly.

The opposition represents an opportunity to reach awareness, and a turning point in the relationships and situations represented by these energies; by looking at where this transit is happening in your birth chart you can get a feel for where you can expect progress, even though it is likely to be highly emotional!  The developments that come to a head now may relate back to a situation or person that was prominent when the Sun and Pluto were last conjunct.

Also look to which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp), in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer or Capricorn then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Sun Square Uranus...

starts on June 25 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 26 at 8.13pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 27.  Sun at 4 degrees and 29 minutes of Cancer, Uranus at 4 degrees and 29 minutes of Aries.

As I have mentioned in a lot of my posts, the Sun can act as a trigger for setting off the longer term energies in the sky... and this is what we can expect now as the Sun makes contact with Uranus through this dynamic square.

The square usually represents a period of tension, which then leads to a change because we recognise that something needs to be altered.  In this case it seems that we need to change our ATTITUDE to something: this something is likely to be indicated by the themes and people represented by the Sun and Uranus.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Cancer then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Sun enters Cancer...

on June 22 at 3.16am in Kilmore.

The movement of the Sun from Gemini into Cancer is an important time of the year each year.  This year it is especially important because the movement of the Sun through Cancer is going to trigger the current Pluto/Saturn/Uranus lineup and form a Grand Cross configuration as part of the upcoming major eclipse on July 1.

The Sun tends to illuminate whatever it touches on, so look at which house cusp has Cancer on it to get a feel for what areas of life are about to get an even bigger boost of attention, especially in terms of the upcoming eclipse.

Fasten your seatbelt!

Mars Square Retrograde Neptune...

starts on June 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 22 at 4.44pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 24.  Mars at 00 degrees and 49 minutes of Gemini, retrograde Neptune at 00 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces.

Fogs and mists are what I think of when I see this combination... because that is what happens when you mix heat (Mars) with water (Neptune)!

Mars is the planet of action, direction and energy and the connection with Neptune - a bit of a contrast to Mars - represents being lost at sea, cloudiness and being blown around on the currents of life, suggests that the relationships and areas of life being affected by this transit will tend to become confused.

Because the square aspect is so powerful, it tends to exaggerate these qualities... the square also suggests a clash or challenge to the way we usually handle situations... in this case a tricky character may make us feel unsure of what we are doing, or perhaps a general lack of energy or sense of purpose may temporarily plague us?

As usual, look at which houses this transit falls in to get a feel for what or who may pose a confusing challenge, and also which houses are ruled by Mars (ones with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini or Pisces you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury Square Saturn...

starts on June 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 22 at 4.42am, leaves on June 22. Mercury at 10 degrees and 30 minutes of Cancer, Saturn at 10 degrees and 30 minutes of Libra.

Mercury is the planet associated with communicating in whatever form gets your message across, and being in Capricorn it seems that communication in general will have more of a serious tone than usual. Saturn usually brings up serious matters that we have to work hard at, but also brings long-lasting rewards for our efforts, so in effect we have a double-whammy 'serious' note to this energy combination.

The connection of these two planets through the square suggests a bit of stress and/or struggle between the two energies, and then a turning point being reached.  It seems that there may be a serious decision or perhaps a communication blockage that needs attention now, as well a change in attitude or understanding (which is likely to be the key to successfully handling this matter).

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling to get a feel for what or who may be at odds... as well as looking at the houses ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer and/or Libra, then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Sun Trine Retrograde Neptune...

starts on June 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 23 at 12.07am in Kilmore, leaves on June 24.  Sun at 00 degrees and 49 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Neptune at 00 degrees and 49 minutes of Neptune.

The connection of the Sun through a lovely trine to the emotional and creative Neptune bodes well for a happy period of time where it comes to the situations and relationships represented by these two planets in your birth chart.  It seems that previous barriers to happiness and progress will ease off, leaving room for enjoyment of the potential offered - particularly of the Neptunian energy!

Neptune moving backwards so suggests that whatever or whoever is regressing and possibly frustrating you, will perhaps begin to make sense, alternatively, you could see the benefit of this process.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp) in order to see what or who is likely to be going well for you!

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer and/or Pisces then you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Mars enters Gemini...

on June 21 at 12.50pm in Kilmore.

The planet of action, direction, passion and energy moving from a fixed earth sign into a mutable air sign suggests that the way we work towards what we want will move from being slow and steady towards a faster pace that is more flexible than it has been while Mars was travelling through Taurus.

This move also suggests that the areas and people represented by Mars in our birth chart will become more flexible and open to trying new approaches to old situations. For example, if you have Aries on your 2nd House cusp, the opportunity to earn your income from more than one source may be possible (Gemini is a 'dual' sign), or perhaps you will have the opportunity earn your income from a 'Gemini' themed job... writing, speaking, travelling, etc.

Mars tends to energies whatever it touches on, so you can expect a lot more activity in the areas of life represented by the house that this planet is moving through.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini, then you can expect things to 'heat up'!

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on June 19 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 20 at 5.18am in Kilmore, leaves on June 20.  Mercury at 6 degrees and 24 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Pluto at 6 degrees and 24 minutes of Capricorn.

Mercury is about how we communicate and how our minds process information, while Pluto tends to work at a deeply emotional level, which is mostly difficult to understand at a logical level.

The opposition presents the opportunity to view the people and situations represented by these two energies in your birth chart in an objective way... and to then understand them/it with as much clarity as you will ever reach.  By doing this, then you can reach a major turning point.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved: also look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer or Capricorn then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury Square Uranus...

starts on June 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 19 at 6.11am in Kilmore, leaves on June 19.  Mercury at 4 degrees and 23 minutes of Cancer, Uranus at 4 degrees and 23 minutes of Aries.

Electric shocks' is what comes to mind when I think of this combination!  It seems that the news and insights (Mercury) that comes to us now will challenge (square) and electrify (Uranus) us in some way - most probably through the people and situations represents by these planets in your birth chart.  Both of these planets tend to act and move quickly so whatever is going on is likely to finish just as quickly as it started.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling to get an idea of what or who may be involved, and also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Cancer then you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Venus Trine Saturn...

starts on June 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 18 at 2.31pm in Kilmore, leaves on January 19.  Venus at 10 degrees and 27 minutes of Gemini, Saturn at 10 degrees and 27 minutes of Libra.

This trine to Saturn from Venus is likely to be very helpful in making the most of the recent move of Saturn from being 'backwards' for 5 months, and now moving forwards and ahead now  most likely through using diplomacy, tact and good relating skills.

As usual, you can look at where the Venus/Saturn trine is happening in your birth chart, as well as which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp), to get an idea of what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets/points in Gemini and/or Libra then you are likely to feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Mercury enters Cancer...

on June 17 at 5.09am in Kilmore.

Mercury moving from Gemini (where it really likes being!), a changeable, witty and busy sign into the more emotional, driven and illogical sign of Cancer sees a strong shift in the way the people and situations represented by this planet in your birth chart, behave.

For example, if you have Gemini on your 7th house cusp - the house of others - it is likely that while Mercury travels through Cancer that they will be more emotional than usual and even moody!  They may also be more interested in issues around their family and/or security.

To get an idea of where this energy shift could affect you, look to see which house cusps are ruled by Gemini (ones with Gemini or Virgo on them).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer, then you can expect the pace to pick up over the next few weeks.  Mercury tends to make things busier where it touches on.

Mercury Trine Retrograde Neptune...

starts on June 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 17 at 2.52pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 18.  Mercury at 00 degrees and 52 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Neptune at 00 degrees and 52 minutes of Pisces.

Mercury represents communication and change, and Neptune represents beauty, escapism and fantasy (amongst other things!).  The combination of these two energies by the easygoing and flowing trine suggests that through using your imagination and a bit of creativity you are likley to achieve a lot.

By looking at what and who are represented by Mercury and Neptune (look to see where these planets are in terms of house position), and also by looking at which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini and/or Virgo on the cusp) and Neptune (house cusp with Pisces on it), you can get an idea of where help is available!

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer and/or Pisces then you are likely to feel this energy more than others.

Sagittarian Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse...

on June 16 at 6.14am in Kilmore.

This is the second eclipse in a series of three, so we are in the midst of a busy time!

First looking at this lunation simply as a Full Moon phase, this is usually a time of heightened emotions and awareness, and gives the opportunity for a new level of objectivity in the areas of life symbolised by the house placement of it within our birth charts.

Being a Lunar Eclipse simply magnifies these trends by about a billion! lol

So, look at where this Lunar Eclipse falls in your chart to get a feel for where you are about to be 'illuminated' through a realisation or other development.  Obviously, the house position will give you clues in regards to who or what may be part of the process.

Looking at the aspects, you can see that the Sun and Mercury are conjunct - this is nothing too unusual since they aren't usually that far apart, but they are pretty close.  This (to me, anyway!) suggests the need for change and/or flexibility in the areas represented by where the Sun/Mercury are, especially since they are in Gemini.

If you have personal planets/points in either Gemini or Sagittarius, then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this Lunar Eclipse.

Saturn goes Direct...

on June 13 at 1.52pm in Kilmore.

Saturn starts it's forward motion today - thank goodness - after a 5 month period of moving backwards over old ground it seems that over the next few weeks we will all see the silver lining to what has been frustrating us through apparent lack of progress.

It will take a few weeks for Saturn to build up a normal speed, so it may take a while to really feel and see an improvement to the situations being affected by the placement of Saturn in our individual birth charts.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Libra may be especially sensitive to this energy.

Sun Conjunct Mercury...

starts on June 12 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 13 at 9.44am in Kilmore, leaves on June 14.  Both at 21 degrees and 39 minutes of Gemini.

Whatever the Sun touches tends to come into prominence in our lives, and the conjunction is a powerful connection that suggests the end of something old, and the beginning of something new.

Mercury represents our thinking, attitude and ability to communicate in general with the world around us, and also to connect with it.  Personally, it represents the people and situations as shown by which houses are ruled by it (house cusps with Gemini or Virgo on them).

Also look at the house that the conjunction is falling in, and the one with Gemini on the cusp in order to get a feel for where a new start is needed.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Venus enters Gemini...

on June 10 at 12.23am in Kilmore.

Venus, the planet of love, enjoyment and pleasure moving from the stable (some say stubborn!), earthy and practical sign of Taurus into the airy, flexible and communicative sign of Gemini suggests that we will all be better placed to talk about what we enjoy, and also to communicate with our loved ones.

By looking at which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusps) you can get a feel for who or what may become more flexible and open to new ideas as Venus moves from Taurus into Gemini.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Gemini can expect to feel the movement of Venus through your sign as being a period of time where pleasure, ease and affection are more prominent qualities in your life.

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Venus square Retrograde Neptune...

starts on June 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 10 at 6.24pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 11.  Venus at 00 degrees and 54 minutes of Gemini, retrograde Neptune at 00 degrees and 54 minutes of Pisces.

Venus, the planet associated with enjoyment and pleasure connecting with Neptune can be the best thing in the world, but it can also create problems because we are not viewing certain challenges clearly.  Neptune tends to cloud and confuse whatever it touches, but it can also move us on to new heights: however, the square aspect tends to suggest the first option.

By looking at which houses are involved - ie, which houses Venus and Neptune are travelling through, and also which houses are ruled by these planets (Venus = ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp, Neptune = house cusp with Pisces on it) you can also get a feel for what or who may be a source of confusion for you.  It may be better that you make a major decision involving these people and areas of your life for another time.

Those of you with personal planets in Gemini and/or Pisces may feel this energy as especially prominent.

Saturday, June 4, 2011

Mercury Trine Retrograde Saturn...

starts on June 7 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 8 in Kilmore at 6.40am, leaves on June 8.  Mercury at 10 degrees and 28 minutes of Gemini, retrograde Saturn at 10 degrees and 28 minutes of Libra.

The connection of Mercury and Saturn through the trine is usually a good one, in that it is a great opportunity for long-term planning, serious discussions and for attending to important paperwork.  Look to see where this trine is falling and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini and Virgo on them) and Saturn (ones with Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who will respond well to this energy.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini and/or Libra, then you are likely to feel this energy as being especially strong.

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Jupiter enters Taurus...

on June 4 at 11.56pm in Kilmore.

Jupiter shifting gears is generally something to look forward to, since it brings a shift in where we can expect growth, opportunity, positive change and learning.  This planet is associated with many things that bring us the opportunity to grow at various levels... physically (too much yummy food and drink!), emotionally, mentally, etc.  It is naturally associated with spirituality, justice, learning and teaching.

At least some of these themes are likely to bring benefit into our lives in different ways, depending on your individual birth chart.  Look to see which house Jupiter is travelling through, and also which house cusp has Taurus on it to get a feel for where to expect benefits from this year long visit.

Also remember that Jupiter will be in a trine aspect by sign to Pluto so will have some pretty powerful support in bringing a deeper expression to this Jupiter transit.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus then you are likely to feel this lucky transit more so than others!

Mercury enters Gemini...

on June 3 at 6.02am in Kilmore.

Mercury LOVES being in Gemini, so this bodes well for the people and situations represented by this planet in your birth chart.  For example, my 2nd house is ruled by Gemini, so I am expecting financial affairs and other areas of life that I value highly to move along nicely now.

So, have a look at which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), to get a feel where people and life in general will be happier than usual. Mercury also tends to make whatever it touches busier, so expect the pace to pick up in terms of the people and situations affected by this transit.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini, then you are likely to be extra busy!

Mercury Square Neptune...

starts on June 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 3 at 5.05pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 4.  Mercury at 00 degrees and 55 minutes of Gemini, Neptune at 00 degrees and 55 minutes of Pisces.

It seems that the people and areas of life represented by Neptune in our birth charts will be the source of uncertainly, 'fogginess', confusion and/or even deception!

However, the square aspect suggests that a turning point will be reached, so look for this relationship or situation to clear up as this aspect passes.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart to get an idea of what or who may need careful handling (sticking to FACTS will help!), and also which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) and Neptune (ones with Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini and/or Pisces then you are likely to be more sensitive than others to this transit.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini...

on June 2 at 7.03am in Kilmore.

A New Moon is generically a time when we all have the opportunity to make a fresh start, particularly in the areas represented by the House in which this lunation falls in.  For example, this New Moon falls in my 1st House and I have Gemini on my 2nd House cusp, so I could perhaps think of ways I would like to approach life and to redefine my values in new ways.

Being an eclipse brings an even bigger focus to this lunation... and a big opportunity to become more aware of the matters relating to it.

Usually around the time of an eclipse there is a development that shakes us out of our comfort zone or creates a new level of awareness associated with the areas of life represented by the House involvement as mentioned earlier.

For those of you that use Chiron in your astrological toolbox, you will note that it squares this lunation.  To me, this suggests that there is an opportunity to experience healing, but before this can happen we all need to realise where our wounds are and perhaps to reopen them before being able to work at the healing process.

This is supported by the trine from Saturn... so by examining where it is in our birth charts, we can look at what and who is helping us along or where we can get support.  Restructuring and practical support, as well as a bit of old-fashioned elbow grease is associated with Saturn.

If you have any personal planets and/or points in Gemini then this is likely to be a pivotal time in your life!

Sun Trine Retrograde Saturn...

starts on May 31 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 1 at 7.15pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 2. Sun at 10 degrees and 33 minutes of Gemini, retrograde Saturn at 10 degrees and 33 minutes of Libra.

Retrograde Saturn is still not moving very quickly since it is getting ready to move forwards again in a couple of weeks.  Symbolically, this stoppage suggests that the situations and people represented by Saturn are at a standstill or may seem as though they are not making any progress or changes at all.  Hang in there though, it's as though whatever or whoever is involved is in the process of getting ready to start moving forwards again.

The Sun illuminates whatever it touches, and the trine to Saturn suggests that we have the opportunity to see what is happening now and to understand it a little better without our ego concerns getting the better of us.  This trine can also mean that the people and situations represented by the Sun will work well with the ones represented by Saturn.  Look to see where this trine is happening to get a feel, and also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp), to get a feel for what and/or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Gemini or Libra then this transit is likely to be especially important to you.

Sun enters Gemini...

on May 21 at 7.21pm in Kilmore.

The shift of the Sun into a different sign means that for all of us that it will be shining it's illuminating beams into different areas of our lives, and different people in them as well.

By looking at which house has Gemini on the cusp you can get a feel for where your focus will be during the next few weeks while the Sun travels through this sign.  For example, if you have Gemini on the cusp of your 2nd house you may need to review what is truly important to you, your values, and your finances.

Issues/people represented by the house with Leo on the cusp may show more 'Gemini' qualities than usual - ie, you can expect changes, adaptability and more communication than usual about them.

Sun Square Neptune...

starts on May 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 22 at 5.31pm in Kilmore, leaves on May 23.  Sun at 00 degrees and 53 minutes of Gemini, Neptune at 00 degrees and 53 minutes of Pisces.

Imagine driving through a thick fog and naively thinking that putting your high beam on will help you see more clearly... this is a bit of what this transit may be like: the thick fog is Neptune, and the high beam is the Sun!  It seems that an area of our life or a certain person (Neptune) is the scene for confusion, lack of clarity and/or even deception.  However hard we try to look at it clearly (Sun) it seems that we make it worse by trying too hard!  The square aspect suggests that a turning point is going to be reached though... it seems that the best approach is to stick to facts.

As usual look at which houses the planets are travelling through in order to get a feel for where the 'fog' is (Neptune) and where you may be looking too hard (Sun).  Also look at the houses ruled by Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp, and the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp).

If you have personal planets/points in Gemini and/or Pisces then you may be especially prone to 'foggy' vision!

Venus Conjunct Mars...

starts on May 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 23 at 6.25pm in Kilmore, leaves on May 25.  Both at 9 degrees and 1 minutes of Taurus.

Even though Venus and Mars are technically only conjunct for a few days, they are travelling through the same sign for the next couple of weeks, making this an important time for our desires and wants to be united.

Mars is an assertive energy that is related to our ego, while Venus is a passive energy related to our desires... a conjunction represents the end of an old way of doing things and the beginning of a new way, a new project, idea, etc.  Every couple of years we get this conjunction of the two planets that represents the masculine (Mars) and feminine (Venus) which gives us all a chance for a fresh start: in this case Venus is in a better position because it likes being in Taurus, while Mars isn't so happy about the situation!

Symbolically this can mean that the people and situations represented by Venus in your birth chart will be in a stronger position than the Mars ones that are ending/starting around this time in your life.  For example, I have Taurus Rising so I am likely to be in a better position than a competitor (Mars rules my Scorpio 7th house cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus then you may feel this opportunity for a fresh start more strongly than others.

Venus Trine Retrograde Pluto...

starts on May 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 22 at 4.03am in Kilmore, leaves on May 22.  Venus at 7 degrees and 4 minutes of Taurus, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 4 minutes of Capricorn.

Venus, the planet of relationships, pleasure and socialising connecting with Pluto, the planet associated with depth, emotions and transformation through the easy-going trine bodes well for the situations and relationships represented by these energies in your birth chart.

It seems that this combination offers the opportunity to deepen ties with a certain person, or to improve your understanding of the areas of life or situations represented by these planets.

As usual, look to see which houses these planets are in and which ones they ruled to get a feel for what or who may be involved.  Venus rules the houses with Taurus/Libra on the cusps, Pluto rules the house with Scorpio on it.

If you have personal planets or points in Taurus or Capricorn then you are likely to be more sensitive than others to this energy.

Mercury Trine Retrograde Pluto...

starts on May 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 21 at 7.54am in Kilmore, leaves on May 21.  Mercury at 7 degrees and 5 minutes of Taurus, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 5 minutes of Capricorn.

Mercury represents the style in which we connect and communicate with the world around us, whilst Pluto is associated with depth and emotions, as well as uncovering the 'truth'.  The trine aspect is an easygoing one that generally helps the energies work together productively and removes barriers to progress that were a problem in the past.

By looking at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart you can get a feel for what and/or who may be flowing more smoothly than usual and where you can expect progress.  You can also get a feel for where you can gain a deeper rapport and understanding that goes beyond simple logic.

Also look to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp) to get a feel for where you can expect progress.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus and/or Capricorn you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Mercury Conjunct Mars...

starts on May 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 21 at 11.20am in Kilmore, leaves on May 22.  Both at 7 degrees and 18 minutes of Taurus.

The first thing that comes to mind with this combination is that we all have to make sure we don't become too quick to open our mouths before thinking!  Perhaps we will be feeling a bit smug or have become too fixed or attached (Taurus) to our way of thinking.

Mercury represents our thinking and the way we communicate with the people and world around us... while Mars is a pretty fiery and impulsive character.  Although irritating or upsetting, however, sometimes things need to be said!  The conjunction offers the opportunity for a fresh start in the areas affected by these planets and to make this fresh start we may all need to clear the air and make sure matters are clear to everyone involved.

As usual look at which house this conjunction is falling in and which houses are ruled by the planets involved (Mercury = house cusps with Gemini or Virgo on them, Mars = house cusps with Aries or Scorpio on them).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Mars Trine Retrograde Pluto...

starts on May 19 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 21 at 4.22am in Kilmore, leaves on May 22. Mars at 7 degrees and 5 minutes of Taurus, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 5 minutes of Capricorn.

People and situations represents by Pluto in our birth charts can do with the some help, and this trine from Mars is likely to be a lifeline!

These are both quite powerful planets in different ways and working together through this aspect gives us all an opportunity to make progress, particularly with our Pluto themes.  By looking at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart you can get a feel for where you can expect to make headway and to gain support.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mars (house cusp with Aries on it), and Pluto (cusp with Scorpio on it).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus and/or Capricorn then you are likely to feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Venus enters Taurus...

on May 16 at 8.12am in Kilmore.

Venus moving from the fiery and independent Aries into the slow moving, sensual and fixed sign of Taurus is certainly a change in pace!  So, whatever or whoever is represented by Venus in your birth chart is also set to experience a change in pace.

By looking to which houses are ruled by her (ones with either Taurus or Libra on the cusp) you can get a feel for what or who will enjoy a slower pace and improvements (Venus loves being in Taurus).

If you have personal planets or points in Taurus, then the visit of this lovely planet through this sign should be an enjoyable one for the most of the time!

Scorpio Full Moon...

on May 17 at 9.09pm in Kilmore.

The period around a Full Moon is traditionally associated with heightened emotions and a new level of awareness, relating to the placement of the lunation, particularly within the individual birth chart.

Adding to this emotional theme is this lunation being in the emotional, complex, deep and mysterious sign of Scorpio!

The houses affected by a Full Moon are generally ones to pay attention to: this is an opportunity to view usually emotionally complex people and/or situations with more clarity than usual... I know this sounds like a contradiction (emotionally complex - clarity) - but I suppose that's life (full of contradictions)!

I don't see any tight aspects to this lunation, although Venus, Mercury and Mars are early in Taurus... perhaps signifying that help is on the way in regards to the situations accented by this Full Moon!

Mercury enters Taurus...

on May 16 at 9.18am in Kilmore.

With Mercury, the planet of communication and connection moving from the fiery and impulsive sign of Aries into the slow moving and stubborn sign of Taurus you can expect the pace to change considerably... especially in the areas of life represented by your birth chart.  That is, which house Mercury is travelling through and the ones ruled by it (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp).

For example, I have Mercury travelling through my 12th House, and ruling my 2nd, 4th and 5th Houses... I expect that there will be a lot of internal 'self-talk' (12th House Mercury), about my values, children and private life.

If you have personal planets or points in Taurus then you are likely to find the visit of Mercury into this sign a much busier period of time than usual.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on May 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 12 at 12.42am in Kilmore, leaves on May 13.  Both at 24 degrees and 49 minutes of Aries.

This aspect was around on March 16, and April 12.  The original post can be found here.  The rejoining of Mercury and Jupiter represents a third and final chance for taking hold of the opportunities that the joining of these forces represent, so look back to the previous conjunctions to get a feel for what you may have a second chance at now.

Mars enters Taurus...

on May 11 at 5.04pm in Kilmore.

Giddyup horsey! (Probably more along the lines of move your bloomin' arse actually!) Anyway, Mars moving into Taurus brings a more mellow approach to self-assertion and energy in general (compared to the boisterous Aries anyway).

If you're a Bull then get ready for life to move into warp speed. Wherever and whatever is touched by this move of Mars into Taurus in your birth chart, get ready for those aspects of your life to be energised and expect a lot of activity there.

Monday, May 9, 2011

Venus Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on May 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 12 in Kilmore at 12.42am, leaves on May 13.  Both at 24 degrees and 46 minutes of Aries.

This is likely to be a lovely combination, depending on where it falls in your birth chart.  Both Venus and Jupiter are usually lucky planets, and the two of them together seem to amplify this theme.  This obviously can be a good thing, but it can also mean that we expect too much of whatever or whoever is involved in or represented by these energies.

Since Venus is chasing Jupiter... symbolically it suggests that whatever or whoever is represented by Venus is 'chasing' whatever or whoever is represented by Jupiter.  The conjunction suggests a meeting, melding and/or joining forces of these people/themes.  For example, if you have this conjunction happening in your 10th House, there may be a meeting about or involving career matters or people or in a setting outside of the home that ends up being quite lucky for you.

As usual, you would look to see where this conjunction is falling in your own birth chart to get an idea of where this energy may be expressed; and also to see which houses are ruled by Venus and Jupiter to get a feel for what or who may be 'conjuncting' each other!

If you have any personal planets or points in Aries then this energy is likely to be especially prominent.

Mercury Conjunct Venus...

starts on May 6 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 10 at 1.44am in Kilmore (both at 22 degrees and 23 minutes of Aries), is exact again on on May 16 at 7.25pm in Kilmore (both at 0 degrees and 34 minutes of Taurus), leaves on May 21.

Smooth talker!  That's the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Mercury and Venus together like this.  Mercury, the planet of communication and connection and also our thinking and attitudes in general connecting with Venus, the planet associated with pleasure, ease and enjoyment bodes well for good news and and positive developments.

The connection through a conjunction suggests something or someone new coming into our lives, depending on which house the conjunction is falling in and which houses are ruled by the two planets involved (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, Venus rules Taurus and Libra).

An unusual twist to this double conjunction means that it will first occur in the late degrees of Aries, then the early degrees of Taurus.... giving us all an opportunity to benefit in at least two areas (houses) of our lives.
So, if you have personal planets and/or points in Aries (for the first conjunction) or Taurus (for the second conjunction), then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

New Moon in Taurus...

on May 3 at 4.51pm at 12 degrees and 30 minutes of Taurus.

Welcome to another New Moon, and another opportunity to make a fresh start!  This is a lovely opportunity to build stability and depth in the areas of life represented by the house that this Taurean lunation falls in.

Taurus is a fixed, earth sign - so it is known for the qualities of stability (sometimes stubborness!), and practicality.  These are some of the themes we may all need to keep in mind - perhaps we need to adjust the amount of them in the areas of life affected?

The trine from Pluto is extremely helpful in that the people and situations represented by it are likely to support and empower us.  So look at which house Pluto is in and what it represents: the people and situations there are likely to need conscious recognition in order to be utilised since the aspect here is a gentle trine.

Another aspect to be aware of is the inconjunct from Saturn... the people and situations represented by it and the house placement are likely to be a bit of a stone in our shoe, so to speak.  Something or someone is likely to be the source of irritation.

Those of you with personal points and/or planets in Taurus have a particularly strong connection with this New Moon in this sign.

Venus Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on April 30 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 1 at 10.14am in Kilmore, leaves on May 2.  Venus at 11 degrees and 54 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 11 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra.

Venus, the planet of relating, our values and pleasure connecting with Saturn, the planet of responsibility, structure and hard work doesn't seem like a good combination.  However, it can be good for us in terms of helping us to be realistic and able to work towards what we want to enjoy in our lives and helping us to develop the skills we need to relate successfully.

The opposition is about awareness, and may relate to a person or situation that came into your life when Venus and Saturn were last conjunct back in early August 2010 at about 1 degree of Libra.  What is happening now also represents a turning point in these matters.

As usual, look to see which houses are involved by looking at where this opposition is happening, as well as which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on them), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on them).

If you have personal planets/points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to feel this aspect more strongly than other people.

Mars Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on April 29 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 1 at 2.26pm in Kilmore, leaves on May 3.  Both at 22 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries.

Mars can act like a trigger for long-standing energies, like Jupiter, and give it a kick start into action: the conjunction of these two planets suggest to me that we will all have a better idea of where and how the transiting Jupiter will work for us through developments that come up now.

Conjunctions are something or someone new, so a new project, person or life situation is likely to be embodied by this energy. Looking at how and where these energies are playing out in your own chart will give you some clues as to where to look for this opportunity for a fresh and powerful new start.

Look at the house where this conjunction is happening, and also which house are ruled by Mars (ones with Aries and Scorpio on the cusp) and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius and Pisces on the cusp), to get a feel for what or who may be part of an exciting new start for you.

Sun Trine Retrograde Pluto...

starts on April 27 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 28 at 11.00am in Kilmore, leaves on April 29.  Sun at 7 degrees and 25 minutes of Taurus, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 25 minutes of Capricorn.

This is a nice energy to have, as it suggests that we will be able to access the power, strength and support that is around us, as represented by Pluto in our birth charts.  The Sun accents and highlights whatever it touches in the birth chart, and the trine is a flowing energy that suggests easier access than usual to whatever is involved and represented by the planets that form this aspect.

As usual look at where this aspect falls in your birth chart to get a feel for what or who may flow more smoothly than usual and in what areas you can expect a deeper understanding... also look at which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Taurus or Capricorn you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Venus Square Retrograde Pluto...

starts on April 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 27 at 5.21pm in Kilmore, leaves on April 28.  Venus at 7 degrees and 25 minutes of Aries, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 25 minutes of Capricorn.

Venus represents what we value, as well as our relating skills: Pluto represents depth, change and intense emotions: the square represents a challenge, stress, and also a turning point.

By looking at which houses the planets are in you can get a feel for where their energies will be felt: you can also look to see which houses are ruled by them (Venus = Taurus and Libra, Pluto = Scorpio) to get a feel for what or who will be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Capricorn you may feel this more than others.

Mercury goes Direct...

on April 23 at 8.04pm in Kilmore.  Mercury at 12 degrees and 53 minutes of Aries.

Even though Mercury is going direct now, it may take a few days for things to settle down into some type of normality while Mercury picks up a bit of speed and momentum, however it may take a few weeks for things to return totally to normal (we have to wait until Mercury goes forward again to the point where it started it's backwards journey).

We can expect the people and situations represented by Mercury to begin stabilising and become more reliable.   As usual look to see where Mercury is travelling and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who these may be.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries, then you may be especially sensitive to this energy.  Gemini people may also feel this way.

Venus Conjunct Uranus...

I did have a lot of these ready... however, with Mercury recently retrograde, things got a bit haywire and Blogger decided to delete some of my entries.  So, my apologies!

So, here it goes....

Venus conjunct Uranus started on April 22 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 23 at 12.28pm in Kilmore, leaves on April 24.  Both at 2 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries.

Venus, the planet of fun, relating and enjoyment connecting with the wild Uranus is a bit of a weird combination, but I suppose life is weird sometimes anyway!  Uranus is usually a bit of a wildcard, an energy that doesn't give us what we expect.

The conjunction usually represents something or someone new coming into our lives... by looking at which house the conjunction falls in, plus which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus and/or Libra on the cusp), and Uranus (Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for what or who may be coming into our lives.  Whatever or whoever it is, it is likely to take us on an unexpected journey full of surprises!

If you have personal planets or points in Aries, then this conjunction is likely to be especially important to you.

Venus enters Aries...

on April 21 at 2.06pm.

Venus, the planet of love and relating moving from the gentle Pisces into the fiery Aries is certainly a major shift in focus!  With this planet in Aries it seems that we will all be more forward in trying to attract what (or who!) we want... it is also likely that we could act before we think.  Of course, this can be a good thing sometimes, but it is important to be aware of this tendency anyway.

By looking at which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusps), we can get a feel for what or who is about to become more active in our lives.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Aries are likely to feel the presence of Venus in your sign as a soothing and beneficial one... particularly with all the fiery and volatile stuff that has been around lately!

Sun enters Taurus...

on April 20 at 8.17pm.

The Sun moving from the fiery and impulsive sign of Aries into the stable, slow-moving and earthy Taurus suggests a change in focus for us all towards stabilising whatever or whoever is represented by the Sun in our birth charts (or the people represented by the Sun are likely to calm down a bit).

The move of this illuminating planet into Taurus also suggests that the house with Taurus on the cusp will become the focus for the next month while the Sun travels through this zodiac sign.

For example, I have Taurus Rising so the Sun coming into this sign will help my energy levels increase since it's rays will be shining on me (Ascendant)!  It is also likely to bring news or important information to me or an important development involving my brother (Leo in 3rd House).

By the way... Happy Birthday to all of you Taureans out there!

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Retrograde Mercury Conjunct Mars...

starts on April 19 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 20 at 12.58am in Kilmore, leaves on April 20.  Both at 13 degrees and 29 minutes of Aries.

The first thing that comes to mind with this combination is that we all have to make sure we don't become too quick to open our mouths before thinking!  This is especially true since the conjunction happens in the fiery and impulsive Aries.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Full Moon in Libra...

on April 18 at 12.44pm in Kilmore.

Compared to the last lunation, it seems that this one will be a breeze!  Saturn is in the same sign as this Full Moon, but it is a fair distance away - for me, this suggests little influence.

The period around a Full Moon is generally one of heightened emotions and also of 'awareness', particularly of a person or situation that was prominent around the time of the last New Moon.

As usual, have a look at which houses are activated as part of this lunation to get a feel for a better level of awareness is possible, but keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde AND conjunct Mars: this suggests that we still need to be aware that it is possible to interpret information incorrectly or jump to conclusions.

The help of the Nodes are suggested at this time, because they form a sextile/trine to the Sun and Moon as part of this Full Moon... so it may pay to look to what and/or who is represented by them in your birth chart for help.  There is sometimes a fated or karmic feel for them, or someone or something that you rely on for support/connection or a feeling of belonging.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Libra then this lunation may be especially important for you.

Mars Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on April 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 19 at 2.02am in Kilmore, leaves on April 20.  Mars at 12 degrees and 45 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 12 degrees and 45 minutes of Libra.

Mars likes action and to be able to push ahead at whatever it is working on... while Saturn prefers to move along slowly and steadily... more like a snails pace but very thorough. Oppositions relate to awareness and a turning point being reached.

If you look to where this opposition is happening in your birth chart you are likely to see where you are facing intense frustration as you try to push ahead in a certain direction... this frustration is likely to stem from a person or situation that you feel is holding you back or blocking your path.  This is also an opportunity to gain awareness (opposition) of whether or not what you are pushing for, is still valid in your life.

Although obviously frustrating, it is important to take a look at why this happening, perhaps the path you have chosen is not right for you, or perhaps you should slow down and pay attention to the details and facts before rushing along on assumptions - especially with Mercury currently being retrograde.

As usual, look at where this opposition is happening in your birth chart, and which houses are ruled by Mars and Saturn (ones with Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn and/or Aquarius on the cusps) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Retrograde Mercury Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on April 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 12 at 1.59pm in Kilmore, leaves on April 13.  Both at 17 degrees and 47 minutes of Aries.

This aspect was around on March 16, and happened before Mercury went retrograde.  The original post can be found here.  The rejoining of Mercury and Jupiter represents a second chance for taking hold of the opportunities that the joining of these forces represent, so look back to what or who came into you life in mid-March to get a feel for what you may have a second chance at now.

Also remember that when Mercury starts to go forward again, that there will be a third and final opportunity coming around again.

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Mars Square Retrograde Pluto...

starts on April 10 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 12 at 6.41am in Kilmore, leaves on April 13. Mars at 7 degrees and 30 minutes of Aries, retrograde Pluto at 7 degrees and 30 minutes of Capricorn.

Looking at this aspect on its own, it suggests a pretty serious clash of energies that will test the way we use power, and also show us just how far others are will to go in using theirs.  It is important to keep your own actions honourable during this time, regardless of what others chose to do, particularly since it may feel as though you are being provoked in certain areas of your life!

It is also important to remember that Mercury is also involved, since it is travelling the same sign as Mars, making communication/thinking more impulsive than usual.  Mercury is also retrograde adding confusion and easy misunderstandings to the mixture, so you can see that it may be best to avoid making quick/harsh judgements until another time!

As is usually the case look to see where this aspect is falling to get an idea for what or who may be at cross-purposes in your life, and where power issues will need to be handled with care.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mars (one with Aries on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Capricorn you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Pluto goes Retrograde...

on April 9 at 6.51pm at 7 degrees and 30 minutes of Capricorn.

Wow... power packed Pluto being stationary seems to me to add to the already intense and passionate feel of this planet and its energy.

Pluto will move from this position right back to 4 degrees and 53 minutes of Capricorn (not much distance I know, but I think we'll feel every minute it travels of it!).  It goes direct again in mid September this year.

Symbolically, the areas affected by Pluto (see which house it is travelling through and which house cusp has Scorpio on it) the change in direction of this planet to retrograde motion suggests that we will all have to go back (or perhaps a person or situation will regress).  Although this doesn't sound promising, it is in that we have a second chance to make something right and to tie up loose ends.  It's a bit like writing a document in a hurry in the middle of the night (Pluto direct).... then putting it away for a few days and then reviewing it (Pluto retrograde)... by going over something again we get the chance to edit what we missed or mucked up at our first attempt.

If you are a December born Capricorn or have personal planets/points in the early degrees of Capricorn you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Sun Conjunct Retrograde Mercury...

starts on April 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 10 at 5.36am in Kilmore, leaves on April 10.  Both at 19 degrees and 36 minutes of Aries.

Since Mercury is currently retrograde, it seems that the themes represented by it will have gone back to a previous state, or you will need to review them.

Also look at the house that the conjunction is falling in, and the one with Aries on the cusp in order to get a feel for where a new start is needed.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Sun Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on April 5 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 7 at 12.40am in Kilmore, leaves on April 8.  Both at 16 degrees and 27 minutes of Aries.

The Sun, as I have mentioned many times before, highlights whatever it touches in the sky and energises it.  Jupiter is about growth, opportunity and also what brings meaning to your life.  The meeting of these two energies suggests that the opportunity that will be around for the next few months while Jupiter travels through Aries, will be highlighted for us all.  It's like someone will put a spotlight on where our opportunity for growth is, making us more aware of which direction to take.

Conjunctions are also associated with something or someone new... so by looking at where this conjunction falls in your birth chart, you can keep an eye out for this new opportunity for growth.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (Leo), and Jupiter (Sagittarius and Pisces) for what or who may be 'coming together' for this new start or opportunity.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, this is likely to be an especially important time for you.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Neptune enters Pisces...

on April 4 at 11.51pm in Kilmore.

Wow... this is literally a once in a lifetime event, since it takes Neptune about 165 years to travel around the zodiac.

Neptune likes being in Pisces, since in modern astrology Pisces is ruled by it.  Technically this is very good news because Neptune being in its own sign should bring out it best qualities.  Symbolically speaking, this bodes well for the people and areas of our lives that are ruled by Neptune... look at which house cusp has Pisces on it to get a feel for what these may be.

This planet is known for its association with sensitivity, creativity, spirituality, other realms, fogginess, water, gas... the list goes on but hopefully you get the gist.  So, if you have personal planets and/or points in Pisces then it seems that you will be in for some sensitive times!   Of course, you are more likely to feel the effect of Neptune in Pisces as it gets closer to whatever you have in this sign (I usually allow an orb of about 1 degree, although it would depend on how sensitive you personally are to this energy).

Neptune is only making a short visit this time (it goes back into Aries in early August 2011) but will be coming back into Pisces early in February 2012 where it will stay until 2025!

New Moon in Aries...

on April 4 at 12.32am in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 29 minutes of Aries.

The New Moon is a special time each month where we get to make a fresh start in the areas represented by the house where this lunation falls.  The sign of the New Moon is also important in that it flavours the way in which we begin this new stage, relationship, and/or project.

As you can see by the chart, this is a pretty powerful lunation, simply being a New Moon in the fiery Aries is enough in itself to give us all a shove along a new path... however as you can see there are a lot of planets clustered in Aries - energising things even more!

The closest aspect is the opposition from Saturn, suggesting that this planet will give us the objectivity and control we need to harness the powerful Aries energy being presented to us all.  Even though we may not like what Saturn has to tell us, he may be the key to using the energy successfuly!  Look at which house Saturn is in and which ones he rules (ones with Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusp), to get a feel for who may be our 'firm but fair' guide!

The conjunction from Jupiter to this lunation bodes well, however, it can also mean we are likely to take on too much.... as you can see from the chart this New Moon links in strongly to the recent Jupiter/Saturn series of oppositions.  Perhaps this link suggests that we all will be able to now utilise what we have learnt from the oppositions and put them to good use!

Also note the Mars/Uranus conjunction and Mercury retrograde.  Explosive behaviour combined with communication mix-ups!  I would suggest that it would be far wiser to bite our tongues than overreact to information that may not be correct.

If you have personal points and/or planets in Aries then I would think that this is an exceptionally important time for you.

Sun Opposing Saturn...

starts on April 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 4 at 9.56am in Kilmore, leaves on April 5. Sun at 13 degrees and 52 minutes of Aries, Saturn at 13 degrees and 52 minutes of Libra.

This can be a bit of a tough one!  However, it does represent an opportunity to make changes that will help us all to reach a turning point in whatever areas of life are represented by these planets within our own birth charts.

The Sun illuminates and energises whatever it touches, and in this case it is retrograde Saturn, the planet associated with responsibility, hard work and restructuring.  The opposition suggests a new level of awareness that will help to reach the turning point that is needed, particularly in the relationships and themes represented by Saturn.

By looking at where this opposition falls, and which houses are ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for which people and areas of life may be due for some attention.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may feel this energy more acutely than others, particularly with everything else going on in the sky at the moment.

Mars Conjuct Uranus...

starts on April 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 4 at 6.52am in Kilmore, leaves on April 5.  Both at 1 degree and 17 minutes of Aries.

What a combination... both of these energies tend to be impatient and sometimes unpredictable and with them both in the fiery and impulsive sign of Aries suggest a pretty volatile time.  This is the first aspect that Mars makes as it comes into Aries so suggests a bit of a baptism of fire as it makes it's entrance... the visual image I get is fireworks!

The conjunction in a generic sense is the start of new cycle, and with the symbolism of this one it seems that we all have the opportunity to make a fresh start that represents something that we identify with strongly (Mars) that is truly something that is individual and unique to each of us (Uranus).  Because of the nature of these planets combined, particularly in the fiery Aries, it seems that this new start will be quite quick, sudden and/or unusual.

As usual, look at where this conjunction is falling to get a feel for where an explosive new start is likely, and also which house cusp has Aries on it.  Also look at which houses are ruled by Mars (in this case Aries, plus Scorpio) and Uranus (house cusp with Aquarius on it), to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

Mars enters Aries...

on April 2 at 3.51pm in Kilmore.

With Mars moving from the gentle Pisces into the fiery Aries sign, I think we will all be in a better position to work on the areas of our life that need energy, drive, enthusiasm and passion. Mars is very comfortable in this sign, so it's easier for him to be his natural, assertive self.

Look to where Mars is travelling through in your birth chart (also to which house cusp has Aries on it) to see where it is likely to boost your energy levels and give you the strength that you need.

Also, keep in mind that there is quite a focus on Aries at the moment, and that Mars is likely to trigger the current Uranus, Sun, Jupiter and Mercury in Aries combination.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries then this is likely to be a very busy time for you and important in terms of setting the scene for the next 2 years (the Mars cycle runs for about this length of time).

Mercury goes Retrograde...

on March 31 at 7.48am in Kilmore at 24 degrees and 21 minutes of Aries.

Timing is everything!  Mercury going retrograde is a little warning bell to double check all your purchases, keep your receipts, etc because it is more likely than usual that we will make those impulse buys that are regretted later, or perhaps that we buy the wrong model, or buy faulty electrical goods that don't perform like they should.  Mercury will go back to normal at around April 22, but won't be fully operational for another week or so after then.

It is especially important to note that Mercury will be retrograde in Aries, the same sign as Uranus, Sun and Jupiter - and soon to enter Aries, Mars.  It just seems to me that this is a pretty powerful and potentially explosive combination that is likely to be easily ignited by people jumping to conclusions or simple misunderstandings.  Biding time and biting tongues may be important techniques for us all while Mercury sorts itself out!

Mercury retrograde is generally a period of time to double check communications in general, and to watch and wait in regards to the areas of your own life being affected by this transit.  Look at which house this planet is travelling through and which one has Aries... also the houses with Gemini and Virgo on the cusps in order to get a feel for what or who may be particularly sensitive to this retrograde period.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries then you are likely to be especially sensitive or prone to mix-ups or a feeling of confusion/uncertainty.

The good new is that the retrograde period of time is excellent for reviewing and going over the past, in terms of the themes represented by the symbolism of your own birth chart.

Sun Square Pluto...

starts on March 27 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 28 at 11.12pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 29.  Sun at 7 degrees and 28 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 7 degrees and 28 minutes of Capricorn.

A square aspect usually produces tension and sometimes conflict between the people and/or situations represented by the two planets involved... in this case the Sun and Pluto.  However, this tension can be positive in that helps us identify the root cause of a problem, meaning we can do something about it and reach a turning point in whatever is going on.

Being in cardinal signs, this suggests that there will be physical action taken... although this would depend also on which houses this aspect falls in within your own birth chart.

As usual, look at which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who may be involved: as well as which houses these planets fall in.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries and/or Capricorn then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Venus enters Pisces...

on March 27 at 5.53pm in Kilmore.

The beautiful Venus travelling through the gentle Pisces suggests that our ability to relate to others will be more sensitive than usual, and that we are likely to see the best in others.  Since Venus can also represent our values, these may swing towards people being more altruistic than usual in how they handle their finances and in choices made regarding purchases and monetary concerns.

So, by looking at where Venus is travelling in your chart, you can get an idea of what or who is likely to be beneficial (as long as you are realistic!).  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Venus - ones with Taurus and/or Libra on them - to get a feel for what or who may be part of this happy picture.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, then this energy is likely to be especially prominent for you - enjoy!

Venus Conjunct Neptune...

starts on March 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 27 at 12.39pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 28.  Both at 29 degrees and 44 minutes of Aquarius.

Venus, the planet that represents our values, how we relate to others and also of the fun stuff in life connecting with Neptune (associated with fantasy, lack of boundaries and total merging) suggests that there is something or someone that may seem to good to be true in our lives right now.  Unfortunately, whatever or whoever it is, it probably IS too good to be true!

However, this combination is an excellent one for anything artistic and/or creative; and also for some harmless daydreaming... so get to it!

As usual, it's a good idea to see where this conjunction is happening in your own birth chart to get a feel for what or who may need clarification.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus and Libra on the cusps), and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets or points in Aquarius, then you are likely to feel this energy as being especially strong.

Jupiter Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on March 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 29 at 8.55am in Kilmore, leaves April 1.  Jupiter at 14 degrees and 21 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 14 degrees and 21 minutes of Libra.

This is the final opposition between Jupiter and Saturn that has been around twice before: firstly on May 23, 2010 when Jupiter was at 27 degrees and 52 minutes of Pisces, retrograde Saturn at 27 degrees and 52 minutes of Virgo; and then again on August 17, 2010 when retrograde Jupiter was at 2 degrees and 26 minutes of Aries, Saturn at 2 degrees and 26 minutes of Libra.  Read the original post here.

The difference with this final opposition is that we now have Uranus in Aries thrown into the mix... a bit of a wild card!  I think that a major turning point is likely with this final opposition, that will enable us to fully utilise the opportunities presented by the energy of Jupiter, as well as to better understand where we need to restructure (retrograde Saturn).

If you have personal planets or points in Aries and/or Libra then you are likely to be especially sensitive to these themes.

Sun enters Aries...

on March 21 at 10.21am in Kilmore.

The Sun moving from the dreamy and emotional Pisces into the supercharged, fiery sign of Aries suggests a definite change in pace for the relationships and areas of life represented by Leo in your birth chart (ie, house cusps with Leo on them).  Combine this with the recent movement of Uranus into Aries and it seems that we can all expect a burst of activity over the next few weeks while the Sun travels through Aries!

Sun Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 21 at 11.24pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 23.  Both at 0 degrees and 32 minutes of Aries.

As I have mentioned a few times before, the Sun illuminates and energies whatever it touches... the connection to Uranus looks like it will give the themes and people represented by this planet a huge boost - hopefully not an electrical one (Uranus rules electricity)!

Conjunctions are usually something or someone new coming into our lives, and this new thing is likely to be described by which house this conjunction falls in and which houses ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Uranus (ones with Aquarius on the cusp).

Whenever I see Uranus activated in the sky, I generally suggest that it is a good idea to keep an open mind and flexible attitude in order to gain the most benefit of this eccentric energy.

If you have personal planets or points in Aries then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Full Moon in Virgo...

on March 20 at 5.10am in Kilmore.

The days around a Full Moon are traditionally ones where emotions are heightened, and also when a new awareness of situations comes into consciousness.  Always remember that the Moon is at it's brightest at a Full Moon, so symbolically this suggests the areas affected by this type of lunation will be at it's brightest or most conscious as well.

This lunation falls on the Virgo/Pisces axis, so it is important to look at which houses in your own birth chart will be activated by it.

The closest aspect that I can see as part of this Full Moon is the square to the nodal axis... this suggests a turning point in our emotional connections and support networks.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on March 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 19 at 12.55am in Kilmore, leaves on March 19.  Mercury at 15 degrees and 07 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 15 degrees and 07 minutes of Libra.

Mercury, the planet of communication, information, and the way we connect with others joining forces with Saturn is likely to put a serious note on the information circulating around us now - particularly regarding a person or situation represented by Saturn that was prominent in the past (Saturn is retrograde).  Saturn also tends to slow down whatever it touches, so you could find that information is slow coming to you (delays in postage, emails, etc).

The opposition suggests a new level of objective awareness and also a turning point in the relationships and situations represented by these planets in your birth chart: oppositions usually mean that there is at least one other person that is part of the developments around this time.

If you look back to when Mercury and Saturn were conjunct, you may get an even better idea of what or who is coming to fruition or a turning point... they were last together on October 8, 2010 - both at 8 degrees and 39 minutes of Libra.  Read the post about that conjunction here.

As usual, you can look to see where this opposition falls in your birth chart, but also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter...

starts on March 15 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 16 at 12.26pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 17.  Both at 11 degrees and 16 minutes of Aries.

This is a lovely meeting of planets that should bring at least a better state of mind regarding the people and matters represented by them in your birth chart!

Mercury represents many things, including young people, news, short trips, communication in general, siblings and our attitude to life in general; Jupiter represents opportunity, growth (sometimes too much!), learning and what brings meaning to our existence.

The conjunction is usually something or someone new, and carries the quality of being unconscious or unaware of the future potential of this new person or thing.  The Mercury/Jupiter combination promises something that will brighten our frame of mind and increase our optimism for the future.

As usual, look to see which house this conjunction is falling in to get an idea of where something new may come up for you, and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on them), and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on them).

If you have personal planets or points in Aries, then this conjunction is likely to be especially important for you.

Mercury Square Pluto...

starts on March 13 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 14 at 4.32am in Kilmore, leaves on March 14.  Mercury at 7 degrees and 19 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 7 degrees and 19 minutes of Capricorn.

What an intense combination... it seems that it is time to really question at a deep level our approach or thinking in regards to an intensely emotional person or situation in our lives.

Mercury represents the way we connect and communicate with those around us, and also our attitude in general.  Pluto represents quite a deep and complex energy and is sometimes experienced as fear because of this.  The connection of these two energies through the powerful square suggests a challenge and stress... but also a turning point.

Look at where this aspect is falling in order to get a feel for what or who may need a change in attitude.  Also look at which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal points and/or planets in Aries or Capricorn then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Uranus enters Aries...

on March 12 at 11.50am in Kilmore.

If you have every watched lightning working within a storm you can get a feel for what Uranus is about. You don't know whether it will actually happen, if it does then you don't know when, where or how it will hit!  This planet also reminds me of 'The Tower' card in the tarot.

Uranus moving from the subtle sign of Pisces into the more dynamic and fiery sign of Aries suggests that our 'lightning strikes' will tend to hit more frequently than they have and perhaps be a bit bigger too!  This planet made a short visit into Aries last year from late May until the middle of August, and will now stay in this sign for about 7 years.  If you look back last year when Uranus made the 'teaser' visit into Aries, you may get a feel for what to expect, if that's possible with Uranus!

By looking at which house has Aries on the cusp you can get a feel for where life is about to hit warp speed... and for where to 'expect the unexpected'.

If you have personal planets or points Aries then you will most likely feel this energy in a particularly powerful way.

Mercury enters Aries...

on March 10 at 4.47am.

Mercury moving from the dreamy, emotional and flexible Pisces into the fiery, brave and go-getting sign of Aries suggests that the people and themes in our lives represented by Mercury will also move from being more placid to being more assertive.

Aries is known for being a reasonably straight-forward and direct sign so while Mercury is travelling though it, it seems that we can expect communication to be more 'what you see is what you get'.

As usual, look to see which house Mercury is travelling through and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini and Virgo on the cusps) to get an idea of what or who is likely to become more direct, brave and easier to understand.

If you have personal planets/points in Aries then while Mercury is travelling through your sign it seems that the pace of life will become more hectic than usual.

Mercury Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 10 at 3.05am in Kilmore, leaves on March 10.  Both at 29 degrees and 51 minutes of Pisces.

Mercury usually symbolises the way we connect with the world around us, and Uranus usually likes to shake things up a bit (think 'The Tower' from the tarot).  The combination of the two joining forces through the conjunction is very powerful and suggests that we may all receive a bit of a 'shock' (Uranus) of energy through unexpected or unusual news (Mercury).

It is important to remember that the only reason we get a 'shock' is because what we find out or what happens is not what we expect... not necessarily a shock because whatever happens is 'bad'.  Uranus also represents liberation and freedom, so the situations and people that are prominent now may offer an opportunity to take hold of these qualities.

Look to see where this conjunction falls in order to get a feel for where you could benefit from keeping an open mind.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusps), and Uranus (ones with Aquarius on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets or points in Pisces, you may be particularly sensitive to this transit.

Pisces New Moon...

on March 5 at 7.46am in Kilmore.

Wow... what a New Moon line-up!  We have Chiron, Mars, Moon and Sun, Mercury AND Uranus all lining up nicely in Pisces.

The New Moon is generally a time for new starts or new situations/people to come into our lives.  With such a strongly Piscean focus it would seem that whatever or whoever is ready to come into our life will somehow enhance our sensitivity, compasssion, healing, and/or creativity.  Perhaps the person that enters our life will display these qualities?

The involvement of so many planets suggests that there are possibly too many options that may prove to be confusing (Pisces)!

As usual, look at which house has Pisces on the cusp or in it to help understand where you have an opportunity to make a fresh start.

Venus enters Aquarius...

on March 2 at 1.39pm in Kilmore.

The move of Venus from the cardinal, earthy sign of Capricorn into the airy and fixed sign of Aquarius suggests that the people and themes represented by this planet in your birth chart are moving onto more solid ground... as solid as an airy sign can be anyway!

As usual, look to see which house she is travellling through to get an idea of where to expect a bit of ease and fun (and also where you may find love if you are looking!), and which houses are ruled by her (ones with Taurus or Libra on or in them) to get a feel for what or who is likely to become more stable and open to communication.

Those of you with with personal planets or points in Aquarius are likely to benefit from having Venus travelling through this sign.

Sun Conjunct Mercury...

starts on February 24 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 25 at 7.48pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 26.  Both at 6 degrees and 23 minutes of Pisces.

Also look at the house that the conjunction is falling in, and the one with Pisces on the cusp in order to get a feel for where a new start is needed.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Mars enters Pisces...

on February 23 at 12.06pm in Kilmore.

Mars moving from Aquarius into the gentle Pisces may feel like a bit of fizzler in comparison to the previous sign!

Mars being the planet of how we get what we want and how we deal with energy and Pisces being a watery and changeable energy suggests that the way ahead is a gentle one that requires flexbility. I keep on getting the visual image of a gentle steam coming out of kettle spout!

Keep in mind though, that the current planetary lineup in Pisces is quite powerful, and there will be a New Moon coming shortly that will energise this sign even more.  So, wherever Pisces is in your birth chart in terms of the house position, is likely to be a hot spot for all of us over the next few weeks.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Pisces then you are likely to feel this energy shift more than others.

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Mercury enters Pisces...

on February 22 at 7.53am in Kilmore.

Mercury moves from the intellectual and fixed sign of Aquarius into the more emotional and flexible sign of Pisces today... suggesting that the people and situations represented by Mercury in your birth chart will tend to be more 'Piscean' during this stay.

For example, I have Virgo on my 4th and 5th House cusps, so I would expect family members and domestic concerns to be easier to negotiate with... children and people at home are less likely to be as stubborn as they have been recently: however, they are likely to be less rational as well!

As a general theme though, Mercury travelling through Pisces suggests a dreamy mental trend, where creativity is accented.

Mercury tends to increase the pace of whatever it gets involved in, and with the particularly strong focus on Pisces right now, it seems that whichever house has this sign on and/or in it will become even more hectic!

Jupiter Square Pluto...

starts on February 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 26 at 7.40am in Kilmore, leaves on March 3.  Jupiter at 7 degrees and 2 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 7 degrees and 2 minutes of Capricorn.

This is the final square in a series of three that was exact on on July 25, 2010 (Jupiter was then retrograde at 3 degrees and 23 minutes of Aries, and retrograde Pluto was at 3 degrees and 23 minutes of Capricorn); and again on August 3, 2010 - retrograde Jupiter at 3 degrees and 12 minutes of Aries, retrograde Pluto at 3 degrees and 12 minutes of Capricorn.

Read about this aspect here

If you have personal planets or points in Aries or Capricorn, then you may be especially sensitive to this energy.
