Venus Square Neptune...

starts on January 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 4 at 7.27pm in Kilmore, leaves on January 5. Venus at 26 degrees and 49 minutes of Scorpio, Neptune at 26 degrees and 49 minutes of Aquarius.

Venus, the planet associated with enjoyment and pleasure connecting with Neptune can be the best thing in the world, but it can also create problems because we are not viewing certain challenges clearly.  Neptune tends to cloud and confuse whatever it touches, but it can also move us on to new heights: however, the square aspect tends to suggest the first option.

By looking at which houses are involved - ie, which houses Venus and Neptune are travelling through, and also which houses are ruled by these planets (Venus = ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp, Neptune = house cusp with Pisces on it) you can also get a feel for what or who may be a source of confusion for you.  It may be better that you make a major decision (especially with Mercury just coming out of being retrograde), involving these people and areas of your life for another time.

Those of you with personal planets in Scorpio and/or Aquarius may feel this energy as especially prominent.

Mercury goes Direct...

on December 30 at 6.21pm in Kilmore.

Even though Mercury is going direct now, it may take a few days for things to settle down into some type of normality while Mercury picks up a bit of speed and momentum, however it may take a few weeks for things to return totally to normal (we have to wait until Mercury goes forward again to the point where it started it's backwards journey).

We can expect the people and situations represented by Mercury to begin stabilising and become more reliable.   As usual look to see where Mercury is travelling and which houses are ruled by it (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who these may be.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Sagittiarus, then you may be especially sensitive to this energy.  Gemini people may also feel this way.

Mars Square Saturn...

starts on December 29 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 30 at 2.29am in Kilmore, leaves on December 31.  Mars at 16 degrees and 33 minutes of Capricorn, Saturn at 16 degrees and 33 minutes of Libra.

Mars is the planet of action, passion, getting things done, acting before thinking, drive, direction, etc and gives us the direction we need in life to focus our energies. Saturn is often associated with responsibility, slowing down, thinking before acting, and structure.

These two planets like to get things done but have a very different approach to each other, making the connection between them frustrating - especially through the square which suggests that they will be working at cross-purposes to each other. This is likely to be an extremely frustrating and irritating period of time for everyone when we will probably feel blocked and unable to move ahead on our current path.

By looking at which houses Mars and Saturn are in you can get a feel for where you can expect this tension to be experienced.  Also look at which houses have Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusps for more information if you need it.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn and/or Aries then you may feel this transit more keenly than others.

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus...

starts on December 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 4 at 11.53pm in Kilmore, leaves on January 13.  Both at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Pisces.

This is the last in a serious of three conjunctions between Jupiter and Uranus that have been around for more than six months now.  The first one was on May 31, 2010 and was at 0 degrees and 17 minutes of Aries.  The second one was on September 8 at 28 degrees and 42 minutes of Pisces, and both planets were retrograde.  This is likely to be the most productive of the three conjunctions, since we are more in tune and open to the energies involved now.  Also note that both planets are moving direct... suggesting that situations involving them should now be moving forwards!

Have a look at the last entry regarding this conjunction here.

Sun Conjunt Pluto...

starts on December 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 27 at 12.04pm in Kilmore, leaves on December 28.  Both at 5 degrees and 9 minutes of Capricorn.

The Sun accents and energises whatever it touches in the sky and in the birthchart... illuminating it and bringing the themes represented by the involved energies to consciousness.  Pluto usually represents emotionally intense and transformational themes.

By looking at where this Sun and Pluto conjunction is happening (and which houses are ruled by these planets) you can get an idea of what/who is coming together, and also what is being given a bit of boost in the process of transformation.

Sun enters Capricorn...

on December 22 at 10.38am in Kilmore.

A shift in sign of the Sun is always something to pay attention to, since it acts as a focussing beam of light on whatever it touches on in our birth chart.  Look at which house the Sun is travelling through and which one has Capricorn on it to get a feel for what or who may be more prominent over the next few weeks.

Keep in mind that Mars is also traveling through Capricorn along with Pluto, so this is likely to be quite an intense time with the themes represented by the houses involved.

The Sun rules Leo, so the house cusp with Leo on it will also be affected by this change in sign.  It seems that whatever or whoever is represented by this house will shift gears... from being Sagittarian to more Capricornian.

Retrograde Mercury Square Jupiter...

starts on December 21 (using a 1 degree orb), exact on December 22 at 11.59am in Kilmore, leaves on December 23.  Retrograde Mercury at 25 degrees and 20 minutes of Sagittarius, Jupiter at 25 degrees and 20 minutes of Pisces.

Since Mercury is retrograde, this energy pattern happened recently... on November 26 and will repeat again once Mercury turns direct later this month.  You can find the original post from the last Mercury/Jupiter square here.

The difference this time is that the person and situations represented by Mercury look as though they will be regressing as part of developments now.

Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius...

on December 21 at 7.13pm in Kilmore.

The energies around us all during the period of a Full Moon are all more powerful, with emotions in particularly being heightened.  Since this is also a lunar eclipse, this is exceptionally true.

This lunation falls in the final degree of Sagittarius, giving this changeable Sagittarian Full Moon an even more unstable or uncertain feel to it.  It seems the key to achieving some sort of balance is in handling the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction that forms the focal point of this transiting T-Square.

By looking at this Jupiter/Uranus conjunction by house position, and also which houses they rule (Jupiter = Sagittarius and Pisces, Uranus = Aquarius) you can look at which areas of your life or which people may be pivotal to handling this Full Moon successfully.

Retrograde Mercury square Uranus...

starts on December 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 21 at 10.30am in Kilmore, leaves on December 22.  Retrograde Mercury at 26 degrees and 46 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 26 degrees and 46 minutes of Pisces.

Since Mercury is retrograde, this aspect is a repeat of the same one that happened on November 28, the only difference being that Mercury is retrograde this time around, while Uranus is now direct.  The aspect actually falls in the same degree as last time.  Read the post here.

Sun Conjunct Retrograde Mercury...

starts on December 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 20 at 12.23pm in Kilmore, leaves on December 20.  Both at 28 degrees and 2 minutes of Sagittarius.

Whatever the Sun touches tends to come into prominence in our lives, and the conjunction is a powerful connection that suggests the end of something old, and the beginning of something new.

Mercury represents our thinking, attitude and ability to communicate in general with the world around us, and also to connect with it.  Personally, it represents the people and situations as shown by which houses are ruled by it (house cusps with Gemini or Virgo on them).  Since Mercury is currently retrograde, and will be until the end of the month, it seems that the themes represented by it will have gone back to a previous state, or you will need to review them.

Also look at the house that the conjunction is falling in, and the one with Sagittarius on the cusp in order to get a feel for where a new start is needed.

Retrograde Mercury re-enters Sagittarius...

on December 19 at 1.53am in Kilmore.

Just when you thought you'd settled all your 'Mercury in Sagittarius' stuff, here we go again!  Whatever was keeping you busy while Mercury was travelling through this sign is likely to need a review and perhaps rehashing because someone has changed their minds, or the circumstances have changed.

Mercury won't start moving forwards until the end of the month, so it seems that we are all in for a long period of renegotiations.  The good news is that this planet moving backwards is a good one for reviewing past decisions associated with the people and themes represented by the house that Mercury is travelling through, and the houses with Sagittarius, Gemini and/or Virgo on the cusp.

Sun Square Uranus...

starts on December 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 19 at 5.48am in Kilmore, leaves on December 20.  Sun at 26 degrees and 44 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 26 degrees and 44 minutes of Pisces.

As I have mentioned in a lot of my posts, the Sun can act as a trigger for setting off the longer term energies in the sky... and this is what we can expect now as the Sun makes contact with Uranus through this dynamic square.

The square usually represents a period of tension, which then leads to a change because we recognise that something needs to be altered.  In this case it seems that we need to change our ATTITUDE to something: this something is likely to be indicated by the themes and people represented by the Sun and Uranus.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Sagittarius and/or Pisces then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Sun Square Jupiter...

starts on December 16 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 17 in Kilmore at 8.47am, leaves on December 18.  Sun at 24 degrees and 49 minutes of Sagittarius, Jupiter at 24 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces.

The Sun acts as a trigger to the longer term energies operating in the sky... in this case the expansive Jupiter is being touched by this illuminating planet.  Jupiter is about opportunity, growth, joy and if taken too far, lack of boundaries, arrogance and/or taking on more than we can handle in the long term.

The square aspect is a dynamic and energetic one, further adding the potential to take things a bit too far with this Jupiter energy!  It is important to keep the areas of life and relationships represented by Jupiter in your birth chart 'realistic' at this time.  The square also represents a period of tension, but also resolution and a turning point being reached (in this case it is likely that a change in the way you do things is needed).

As usual, look to see where this aspect is happening in your birth chart to get a feel for what or who will be the scene for a bit of stress, but resolution.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius and/or Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets or points in Sagittarius and/or Pisces then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Retrograde Mercury Conjunct Mars...

starts on December 13 (using a one degree orb), is exact on December 14 at 3.10pm in Kilmore, leaves on December 15.  Both at 4 degrees and 41 minutes of Capricorn.

The first thing that comes to mind with this combination is that we all have to make sure we don't become too quick to open our mouths before thinking!  However, being in Capricorn we at least are likely to have at least a millisecond to think before opening our mouths!

Mercury represents our thinking and the way we communicate with the people and world around us... while Mars is a pretty fiery and impulsive character.  Although irritating or upsetting, however, sometimes things need to be said!  The conjunction offers the opportunity for a fresh start in the areas affected by these planets and to make this fresh start we may all need to clear the air and make sure matters are clear to everyone involved.

As usual look at which house this conjunction is falling in and which houses are ruled by the planets involved (Mercury = house cusps with Gemini or Virgo on them, Mars = house cusps with Aries or Scorpio on them).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.  Also, keep in mind that this aspect joins forces with the current Mars/Pluto conjunction that I just posted about!  What a combination!!!

Mars Conjunct Pluto...

starts on December 13 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 14 at 3.10pm in Kilmore, leaves on December 16.  Both at 4 degrees and 41 minutes of Capricorn.

Mars and  Pluto joining forces is a bit like leaving a pressure cooker alone unattended for too long... you must keep an eye on it and allow some pressure to release so it doesn't explode!

Both planets are pretty 'energetic' but in different ways... Mars tends to be 'in your face', while Pluto is more subtle, but deeply powerful.  The combination of the two suggests a powerful new start (conjunction) somewhere in your life - most likely as represented by the house position of this meeting of Mars/Pluto.  Obviously, the more conscious and understanding you can be with this energy, the more you will get out of it.
You may also want to look at which houses are ruled by these planets (ones with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who holds the chance for a powerful new start.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn, this is an especially powerful time for you.

Mercury goes Retrograde...

on December 10 at 11.04pm in Kilmore at 5 degrees and 56 minutes of Capricorn.

Timing is everything!  Mercury going retrograde just as we enter the festive season is a little warning bell to double check all your purchases, keep your receipts, etc because it is more likely than usual that we will make those impulse buys that are regretted later, or perhaps that we buy the wrong model, or buy faulty electrical goods that don't perform like they should.  Mercury will go back to normal at the end of the month, but won't be fully operational for another week or so after then.  This is two festive seasons in a row with Mercury retrograde!

Mercury retrograde is generally a period of time to double check communications in general, and to watch and wait in regards to the areas of your own life being affected by this transit.  Look at which house this planet is travelling through and which one has Capricorn on the cusp... also the houses with Gemini and Virgo on the cusps in order to get a feel for what or who may be particularly sensitive to this retrograde period.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn then you are likely to be especially sensitive or prone to mix-ups or a feeling of confusion/uncertainty.

The good new is that the retrograde period of time is excellent for reviewing and going over the past, in terms of the themes represented by the symbolism of your own birth chart.

Mars enters Capricorn...

on December 8 at 10.49am.

Mars moving from the fiery and changeable sign of Sagittarius into the hard-working, earthy and practical sign of Capricorn does suggest that we all have the opportunity to put our 'elbow-grease' efforts (Mars) into good use and to make progress (Capricorn) in the areas affected by this change of signs.

This planet is associated with action, movement, progress and things moving along... look at which house Mars is travelling through and which house has Capricorn on it to see where you can expect things to 'fire up'!

The houses with Aries and Scorpio on the cusps are likely to affected by this change in signs as well... the people and situations represented by them are likely to be more stable, practical and easier to move ahead with.

If you have personal points and/or planets in Capricorn then you can expect the themes associated with them to become more prominent and busy.

Uranus goes Direct...

on December 6 at 12.50pm at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.

Uranus, the rebel and eccentric planet, goes direct after being retrograde for many months.  This change from backward to forward motion suggests that whatever or whoever is represented in our birth charts is going to get moving again after a long period of regression.

Look to see which house Uranus is traveling through to see who or what should begin making progress again, and also to which house/s are ruled by Aquarius.

New Moon in Sagittarius...

on December 6 at 4.36am in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 28 minutes of Sagittarius.

A New Moon is always associated with the chance to start afresh... depending on which sign the lunation is falling in and which house in your natal chart, this is likely to be a different fresh start.

Being in Sagittarius, this new start may mean including a bit more freedom, inspiration and meaning into your life... learning to be more flexible and open to these themes is likely to be important.

The sextile from Saturn to this New Moon bodes well for whatever new is starting in your life (depending on the symbolism within your own birth chart).  It suggests help from a stabilising person or influence that will help build a solid foundation, and perhaps provide guidance.

Mercury Conjunct Pluto...

starts on December 5 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 6 at 12.20pm in Kilmore, leaves on December 8.  Both at 4 degrees and 24 minutes of Capricorn.

The planet of communication meeting up with the intensely emotional and complex Pluto is likely to be a period of time where we all have the opportunity to understand something or someone at a deeper level than we have in the past.  The conjunction represents something new, perhaps a new person, relationship, level of understanding or even a new offer of some type.

To get an idea of what this new thing may be, look to see where this conjunction is happening and also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo) and Pluto (Scorpio).  Intense times!!

Don't forget that Mercury is about to go retrograde so will soon be back for another dose of Pluto starting on December 12, and becoming exact on December 14 at 3.05pm in Kilmore, leaving on December 16... also, we have a Mars/Pluto conjunction happening this week as well!  Hang onto your hat!

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Mars Square Retrograde Uranus...

starts on December 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 4 at 1.01am in Kilmore, leaves on December 5. Mars at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Sagittarius, retrograde Uranus at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.

Mars travelling through the fiery sign of Sagittarius may contribute to the ignition of a volatile, 'electrical' situation... the combination of Mars and Uranus looks as though it will provide the spark that will ignite an unexpected and exciting turning point in the areas represented by your birth chart.  Neither one of these energies is exactly a shrinking violet, so it seems that this is likely to be a bit of a roller-coaster ride period of time.

Squares generally represented a period tension, following by a turning point and growth. So, by looking at where this aspect is falling and which houses are ruled by them, we can get a feel for where we can expect the air to clear. Mars rules the houses with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp, Uranus rules the house with Aquarius on the cusp.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Sagittarius or Pisces then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.
