New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Cancer...

on July 1 at 6.54pm in Kilmore at 9 degrees and 12 minutes of Cancer.

Wow... what a line-up!  This eclipse is very important in so many ways that it's hard to know where to start.

The first point, I think, is that this is a New Moon... always an opportunity for a fresh start in the area of life being represented by the house placement of it... in this case 9 degrees of Cancer.  I would even extend this theme to the house cusp with Cancer on it as well... for example you may have 27 degrees of Leo on the MC, placing this New Moon in your 10th... but you may then also have 26 degrees of Cancer on the 11th.  So, I would look at both the 10th and 11th in this case.

Being an eclipse, this is an exceptionally powerful lunation: and opportunity to really make tangible changes to your life because of the outer planet involvement (look at Uranus, Saturn and Pluto!).

Those of you with personal points and/or planets in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and/or Capricorn) may feel that events around this time shift the ground beneath your feet, and set you on a totally new life course.   This will be especially relevant if you have these placements within a few degrees either side of 9 degrees of the cardinal signs.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini...

on June 2 at 7.03am in Kilmore.

A New Moon is generically a time when we all have the opportunity to make a fresh start, particularly in the areas represented by the House in which this lunation falls in.  For example, this New Moon falls in my 1st House and I have Gemini on my 2nd House cusp, so I could perhaps think of ways I would like to approach life and to redefine my values in new ways.

Being an eclipse brings an even bigger focus to this lunation... and a big opportunity to become more aware of the matters relating to it.

Usually around the time of an eclipse there is a development that shakes us out of our comfort zone or creates a new level of awareness associated with the areas of life represented by the House involvement as mentioned earlier.

For those of you that use Chiron in your astrological toolbox, you will note that it squares this lunation.  To me, this suggests that there is an opportunity to experience healing, but before this can happen we all need to realise where our wounds are and perhaps to reopen them before being able to work at the healing process.

This is supported by the trine from Saturn... so by examining where it is in our birth charts, we can look at what and who is helping us along or where we can get support.  Restructuring and practical support, as well as a bit of old-fashioned elbow grease is associated with Saturn.

If you have any personal planets and/or points in Gemini then this is likely to be a pivotal time in your life!

New Moon in Aries...

on April 4 at 12.32am in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 29 minutes of Aries.

The New Moon is a special time each month where we get to make a fresh start in the areas represented by the house where this lunation falls.  The sign of the New Moon is also important in that it flavours the way in which we begin this new stage, relationship, and/or project.

As you can see by the chart, this is a pretty powerful lunation, simply being a New Moon in the fiery Aries is enough in itself to give us all a shove along a new path... however as you can see there are a lot of planets clustered in Aries - energising things even more!

The closest aspect is the opposition from Saturn, suggesting that this planet will give us the objectivity and control we need to harness the powerful Aries energy being presented to us all.  Even though we may not like what Saturn has to tell us, he may be the key to using the energy successfuly!  Look at which house Saturn is in and which ones he rules (ones with Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusp), to get a feel for who may be our 'firm but fair' guide!

The conjunction from Jupiter to this lunation bodes well, however, it can also mean we are likely to take on too much.... as you can see from the chart this New Moon links in strongly to the recent Jupiter/Saturn series of oppositions.  Perhaps this link suggests that we all will be able to now utilise what we have learnt from the oppositions and put them to good use!

Also note the Mars/Uranus conjunction and Mercury retrograde.  Explosive behaviour combined with communication mix-ups!  I would suggest that it would be far wiser to bite our tongues than overreact to information that may not be correct.

If you have personal points and/or planets in Aries then I would think that this is an exceptionally important time for you.

Pisces New Moon...

on March 5 at 7.46am in Kilmore.

Wow... what a New Moon line-up!  We have Chiron, Mars, Moon and Sun, Mercury AND Uranus all lining up nicely in Pisces.

The New Moon is generally a time for new starts or new situations/people to come into our lives.  With such a strongly Piscean focus it would seem that whatever or whoever is ready to come into our life will somehow enhance our sensitivity, compasssion, healing, and/or creativity.  Perhaps the person that enters our life will display these qualities?

The involvement of so many planets suggests that there are possibly too many options that may prove to be confusing (Pisces)!

As usual, look at which house has Pisces on the cusp or in it to help understand where you have an opportunity to make a fresh start.

New Moon in Aquarius...

on February 3 at 1.31pm in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 53 minutes of Aquarius.

The New Moon is generally a time for something or someone new to come into our lives... as described by where the lunation falls in your birth chart.  Usually, there is a lack of awareness of the importance of developments, so it may take time for us all to realise what the situations happening now actually mean for us later on down the track!

Being in the fixed, air sign of Aquarius suggests that either have to learn to be more stable in our thinking, or STOP being stubborn in the same way!  Either way there has to be a balance and a new way of approaching situations that are represented by this New Moon for us all.  Stability is likely to be important as part of this fresh start and also a new way of thinking and/or communicating since this lunation is in an air sign.

Looking at the aspects to this New Moon, the first one (and probably the most important one) is the close conjunction from Mars... as you probably know, this planet tends to fire up and energies whatever it touches: the conjunction is especially powerful in getting things moving!  Mars may represent a person, or simply being motivated to get moving with something or someone new as part of this lunation.

The good news with this New Moon is that we have Saturn trining it, suggesting that help and support from Saturn in stabilising the sometimes impulsive energy of Mars as part of the picture!  Positive growth and stability are indicated with this mix of energies.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Capricorn...

on January 4 at 8.03pm in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 38 minutes of Capricorn.

Like the last eclipses, this one looks pretty intense and serious because of the involvement of Pluto!  Have a look at the line up in Capricorn!

As I just mentioned, there's the intense Pluto/Node conjunction starting off the stellium in Capricorn, then the New Moon Eclipse, followed by the fiery Mars.  You can see that Saturn joins in the picture through the square it makes to this lunation.  I am just focusing on the aspects made to the actual lunation, so there isn't a lot else happening in terms of the joining of forces with other planets to this eclipse/lunation.

The square here is actually likely to be helpful in getting the energy moving, since squares are pretty dynamic (even though they can be frustrating)!  Look at where Saturn is in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by him in order to get a feel for where you could be experiencing intense frustration, but also where you can expect a breakthrough around the time of this eclipse.

As usual, look to see where this eclipse and various planets fall in your birth chart to get a feel for what to expect... this one is especially important for people with personal planets and points in Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and/or Libra.

New Moon in Sagittarius...

on December 6 at 4.36am in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 28 minutes of Sagittarius.

A New Moon is always associated with the chance to start afresh... depending on which sign the lunation is falling in and which house in your natal chart, this is likely to be a different fresh start.

Being in Sagittarius, this new start may mean including a bit more freedom, inspiration and meaning into your life... learning to be more flexible and open to these themes is likely to be important.

The sextile from Saturn to this New Moon bodes well for whatever new is starting in your life (depending on the symbolism within your own birth chart).  It suggests help from a stabilising person or influence that will help build a solid foundation, and perhaps provide guidance.

New Moon in Scorpio...

today in Kilmore at 3.52pm.

This type of lunation is usually associated with making a fresh start, and being in Scorpio it is likely to be one that helps us to transform something, or to gain a much deeper understanding of whatever (or whoever) is involved.

I notice that the New Moon chart is lacking in aspects, particularly any strong ones to the actual lunation which to me, can suggest a couple of things.

Firstly, it could mean that we have little support in making this new start - you would have to take into account which house this lunation falls in.

Secondly, it may mean that whatever is going on, that it will be INTENSE!  Especially being Scorpio, a naturally intense and powerful sign.

New Moon in Libra...

today in Kilmore at 5.44am.

A New Moon is always an opportunity for a new start... this one being in Libra suggests that balance, diplomacy and our ability to relate successfully to others is likely to be part of this new start.

The involving of Mercury and Saturn in this New Moon is important as it suggests the need for some serious thinking or that the decisions you are making now will have an impact in your life for a long time.

Pluto is squaring the Mercury/Saturn conjunction, adding a deeply emotional challenge to the whole situation, but also the opportunity to make major changes for the better.

As usual, look at which house this lunation is falling in and which house has Libra on the cusp, since the effects of the Libran New Moon may flow into that house as well, if it is different to where the actual lunation degree.

New Moon in Virgo...

today at 8.30pm at 15 degrees and 40 minutes of Virgo.

The time around a New Moon is generally one of making a fresh start, particularly in relation to the sign that it falls in... in this case Virgo.  The search for purity, perfection and/or a practical way of working with things are all themes linked with this sign.

Also, look at where this lunation is falling in your birth chart to get a feel for where you can make a personal fresh start.  For example, I have it falling in my 4th House, so I can think about how or what I would like to change about myself at a deep level and/or how a fresh start with family members could be approached.  Of course there are many ways in which this could be experience, these are just examples.

Looking at the aspects coming along with this New Moon you will see that the retrograde Mercury is part of the lunation... suggesting that you can expect to change something about a new project that comes into your life now at some stage later on down the track.  You may change your mind, or someone else could, about the situation.  The trine from the Nodes and Pluto bode well for support and progress with our endeavours.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Virgo, this New Moon is likely to be especially significant for you.

New Moon in Leo...

today in Kilmore at 1.08pm.

The New Moon period is usually a time to start anew: a new attitude, new relationship, new job, new awareness... etc.  Where this new start is depends on where the New Moon falls in your birth chart.

Being in Leo, it seems that we all need to focus on finding a new way to 'shine' and to discover and develop what makes us feel special, brings warmth into our lives and also to bring the child within us out to play a bit!

Looking at the aspects it seems that this lunation is a bit isolated, apart from a trine by sign to the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, and opposition by sign to the Neptune/Chiron conjunction.  I feel that this simply means that the power of this New Moon is condensed and will need extra awareness to get things happening.

As usual, look to which house this lunation is falling in to get an idea of which areas of life and/or relationships have a chance for a fresh start around this time.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Cancer...

today in Kilmore at 5.40am at 19 degrees and 23 minutes of Cancer.

Compared to the last eclipse (the lunar one), this one is a walk in the park!  Eclipses generally bring a period of 'illumination' to the areas and relationships represented by the houses involved.

The Solar Eclipse is also a New Moon, so represents an extra powerful opportunity to make a fresh start in the areas of life represented by the house it falls in.  The sextile from Mars is very helpful, but suggests a bit of elbow-grease will be needed to get things off the ground.

Being in the sign of Cancer, suggests that we will have the motivation we need to make this fresh start, and that 'security' may be part of the reason for making changes now.

New Moon in Gemini...

today in Kilmore at 9.15pm. New Moon at 21 degrees and 23 minutes of Gemini.

New Moon, new opportunities!  Each month this phase of the Moon gives us all the chance to start afresh in whatever relationships and/or themes are represented by the house that the lunation falls in.

This lunation falls in Gemini, so suggests an opportunity to make a fresh start with the way we connect and communicate with the world around us.  It is also an opportunity to change the way we think in general and to understand how our own attitude and approach to life, creates our reality.

Looking at the aspects to this New Moon in Gemini, there is a wide square from Saturn, suggesting that something or someone will be challenging us in our attempt to start afresh, however, this can be a good thing because it will give us all the kick in the pants we sometimes need!  A square also represents a cross-road and the opportunity to reach a turning point.

The trine from Neptune suggests creativity, emotions, and/or altruism will be part of the key for successfully using this New Moon energy.

As usual, look to see where this lunation falls, and where the other pivotal planets are (and which houses they ruled) for some clues for how best to use this New Moon for a fresh start!

New Moon in Taurus...

today in Kilmore at 11.04am.  New Moon at 23 degrees and 9 minutes of Taurus.

Taurus seems to be more accented than usual right now, with the recent forward motion of Mercury in this sign, and now a New Moon, and chance for a fresh start in the areas and relationships represented by this sign in your chart.  Mars is also squaring this sign right now, further energising our Taurus stuff into action!

The New Moon period is an important one for making a fresh start in the areas and relationships represented by the house in which the lunation falls.  The square to Neptune suggests that we will need to be careful of confusion or even deception, whilst the trine to retrograde Saturn suggests help in stabilising this new start.... if you are unsure of how to deal with Neptune situations/people as represented in your birth chart, I would look to Saturn for a dose of reality and a bit of structure.  As mentioned earlier, Mars is squaring this lunation, a very energetic combination, suggesting that there may be an ego clash (or two!) that will need to be handled carefully.

If you have personal planets or points in Taurus then this is likely to be a powerful opportunity for you to make a fresh start in your life.  The recent frustrations represents by Mercury retrograde and also Mars squaring Taurus stuff are almost over, and this New Moon is likely to be just the thing you need!

New Moon in Aries...

today in Kilmore at 10.29pm at 24 degrees and 27 minutes of Aries.

The New Moon is a special time each month where we get to make a fresh start in the areas represented by the house where this lunation falls.  The sign of the New Moon is also important in that it flavours the way in which we begin this new stage, relationship, and/or project.

Looking at the chart you will see that this lunation only receives one aspect: the very wide sextile from the Neptune/Chiron conjunction.  The lack of aspects suggests to me that whatever we launch at the time of the New Moon, although we have the courage and drive to do so, will need to be really pushed ahead to make progress.  By looking at what or who the Neptune/Chiron conjunction represents in your birth chart you can get an idea of where you are likely to find at least a little bit of support (sextile to the lunation) for your new start.

You will also note that Mars, the ruler of this lunation, has no aspects at all... confirming this trend confirms this trend of really needing to look for this need to work hard to get this project off the ground.

New Moon in Aquarius...

today in Kilmore at 1.51pm.

This New Moon has a powerful connection to Neptune and Chiron... have a look at my previous post about the Sun/Neptune conjunction to get a feel for this lunation.

New Moon's are about making a fresh start and by looking at where this one falls in your birth chart you can get a feel for where you have the potential to start something new.

Keep in mind the confusing, but idealistic Neptune influence though!

Capricorn New Moon and Solar Eclipse...

today in Kilmore at 6.11pm at 25 degrees and 1 minute of Capricorn.

This one looks pretty intense and serious!  Have a look at the line up in Capricorn!  First of all there is Retrograde Mercury moving in closely towards Pluto... it's as if they are running towards each other in a weird sort of slow motion love scene.

The actual New Moon and actual Eclipse lineup is pretty impressive too.  There is the Sun and Moon (of course!), and then Venus in the same degree as the eclipse: Uranus sextiles the three of them, suggesting some help or ease from people and/or areas of life representing by this planet in your birth chart.  Having Venus involved so tightly in this eclipse suggests that there is a silver lining to whatever or whoever is prominent around the time of the eclipse, no matter how unexpected or unusual situations end up being!  The sextile to Uranus is also suggesting something or someone positive coming from events now.

As usual, look to see where this eclipse and various planets fall in your birth chart to get a feel for what to expect... this one is especially important for people with personal planets and points in Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and/or Libra.

New Moon in Sagittarius...

today in Kilmore at 11.02pm at 24 degrees and 39 minutes of Sagittiarus.

The days around a New Moon are associated with making a fresh start, and if you think about what you see in the sky at the time of a New Moon (basically you can't see the Moon), symbolically you can't see the importance of what is starting at this time.

As the Moon grows, so does our awareness of what developments now will mean in the longer term.

Looking at the energies around this New Moon, you can see in the chart that Uranus is squaring this lunation, however, it is separating so is not as powerful as it would have been if it had been applying.  This contact to Uranus gives this New Moon an 'electric' and energising feel that is likely to be felt through unexpected, exciting and/or unusual developments or people that challenge us in some way.

Stationary Mars (about to turn retrograde) trines the New Moon, suggesting a potent source of power and energy being available to support our new project or phase in life.  The sextile from the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunction also gives support to this lunation.

As usual, look to see where this New Moon falls in your birth chart to get an idea of what, or who, may have the chance for a fresh start in your own life!

New Moon in Scorpio...

today in Kilmore at 6.14am at 24 degrees and 34 minutes of Scorpio.

A New Moon generally brings the opportunity for a fresh start in whichever house it falls in and incorporating the themes of its' sign and the aspect patterns within it.

This New Moon looks quite dynamic with Mars widely squaring it, as well as the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunct squaring it.  The trine from Uranus is helpful.

So, what this translates to in everyday life is that where the New Moon falls in your birth chart by house is where you have the chance to make a fresh start... the squares are what people and situations are likely to challenge or energise you, and the trines are likely to be helpful people and/or skills.

New Moon in Libra...

today in Kilmore at 4.33pm at 24 degrees and 59 minutes of Libra.

The period around a New Moon is usually an excellent time to make a fresh start, especially in the areas represented by the house that the New Moon falls in.  For example, if you have Libra on your 6th House cusp (like me), this is good time to launch a new exercise routine, diet or way of attending to your daily responsibilities and chores.  A new pet would be a nice way to use this energy as well.

This New Moon is involved with a square to the nodal axis, this adds a fated quality to developments around this time and also highlights the importance of the relationships in your life right now... especially family type ones.

As with any new start, it may take at least a few days to begin seeing the significance of what is happening now.
