Sun Square Uranus...

starts on June 25 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 26 at 8.13pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 27.  Sun at 4 degrees and 29 minutes of Cancer, Uranus at 4 degrees and 29 minutes of Aries.

As I have mentioned in a lot of my posts, the Sun can act as a trigger for setting off the longer term energies in the sky... and this is what we can expect now as the Sun makes contact with Uranus through this dynamic square.

The square usually represents a period of tension, which then leads to a change because we recognise that something needs to be altered.  In this case it seems that we need to change our ATTITUDE to something: this something is likely to be indicated by the themes and people represented by the Sun and Uranus.

Mercury Square Uranus...

Electric shocks' is what comes to mind when I think of this combination!  It seems that the news and insights (Mercury) that comes to us now will challenge (square) and electrify (Uranus) us in some way - most probably through the people and situations represents by these planets in your birth chart.  Both of these planets tend to act and move quickly so whatever is going on is likely to finish just as quickly as it started.

Venus Conjunct Uranus...

I did have a lot of these ready... however, with Mercury recently retrograde, things got a bit haywire and Blogger decided to delete some of my entries.  So, my apologies!

So, here it goes....

Venus conjunct Uranus started on April 22 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 23 at 12.28pm in Kilmore, leaves on April 24.  Both at 2 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries.

Venus, the planet of fun, relating and enjoyment connecting with the wild Uranus is a bit of a weird combination, but I suppose life is weird sometimes anyway!  Uranus is usually a bit of a wildcard, an energy that doesn't give us what we expect.

The conjunction usually represents something or someone new coming into our lives... by looking at which house the conjunction falls in, plus which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus and/or Libra on the cusp), and Uranus (Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for what or who may be coming into our lives.  Whatever or whoever it is, it is likely to take us on an unexpected journey full of surprises!

If you have personal planets or points in Aries, then this conjunction is likely to be especially important to you.

Mars Conjuct Uranus...

starts on April 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 4 at 6.52am in Kilmore, leaves on April 5.  Both at 1 degree and 17 minutes of Aries.

What a combination... both of these energies tend to be impatient and sometimes unpredictable and with them both in the fiery and impulsive sign of Aries suggest a pretty volatile time.  This is the first aspect that Mars makes as it comes into Aries so suggests a bit of a baptism of fire as it makes it's entrance... the visual image I get is fireworks!

The conjunction in a generic sense is the start of new cycle, and with the symbolism of this one it seems that we all have the opportunity to make a fresh start that represents something that we identify with strongly (Mars) that is truly something that is individual and unique to each of us (Uranus).  Because of the nature of these planets combined, particularly in the fiery Aries, it seems that this new start will be quite quick, sudden and/or unusual.

starts on March 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 21 at 11.24pm in Kilmore, leaves on March 23.  Both at 0 degrees and 32 minutes of Aries.

As I have mentioned a few times before, the Sun illuminates and energies whatever it touches... the connection to Uranus looks like it will give the themes and people represented by this planet a huge boost - hopefully not an electrical one (Uranus rules electricity)!

Conjunctions are usually something or someone new coming into our lives, and this new thing is likely to be described by which house this conjunction falls in and which houses ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Uranus (ones with Aquarius on the cusp).

Whenever I see Uranus activated in the sky, I generally suggest that it is a good idea to keep an open mind and flexible attitude in order to gain the most benefit of this eccentric energy.

Uranus enters Aries...

on March 12 at 11.50am in Kilmore.


If you have every watched lightning working within a storm you can get a feel for what Uranus is about. You don't know whether it will actually happen, if it does then you don't know when, where or how it will hit!  This planet also reminds me of 'The Tower' card in the tarot.

Uranus moving from the subtle sign of Pisces into the more dynamic and fiery sign of Aries suggests that our 'lightning strikes' will tend to hit more frequently than they have and perhaps be a bit bigger too!  This planet made a short visit into Aries last year from late May until the middle of August, and will now stay in this sign for about 7 years.  If you look back last year when Uranus made the 'teaser' visit into Aries, you may get a feel for what to expect, if that's possible with Uranus!

By looking at which house has Aries on the cusp you can get a feel for where life is about to hit warp speed... and for where to 'expect the unexpected'.

Mercury Conjunct Uranus...

starts on March 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 10 at 3.05am in Kilmore, leaves on March 10.  Both at 29 degrees and 51 minutes of Pisces.

Mercury usually symbolises the way we connect with the world around us, and Uranus usually likes to shake things up a bit (think 'The Tower' from the tarot).  The combination of the two joining forces through the conjunction is very powerful and suggests that we may all receive a bit of a 'shock' (Uranus) of energy through unexpected or unusual news (Mercury).

It is important to remember that the only reason we get a 'shock' is because what we find out or what happens is not what we expect... not necessarily a shock because whatever happens is 'bad'.  Uranus also represents liberation and freedom, so the situations and people that are prominent now may offer an opportunity to take hold of these qualities.

Venus Square Uranus...

starts on February 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 2 at 11.47pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 3.  Venus at 28 degrees and 03 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 28 degrees and 03 minutes of Pisces.

Venus, the planet of our values, relationships and pleasure connecting with Uranus by square is sure to put a bit of an unexpected 'electricity' into the people and situations represented by her in your birth chart.  This energy is only around for a couple of days so it probably won't be anything earth-shattering, but just surprising!

Uranus represents the rebel, or things just not going as you think they should... for me it's a bit like trying to kick a football - I never know which direction and how far it will go (especially when it bounces!).

This is the third and final series of squares to Uranus from Mercury... the last one was on December 21, 2010 and the first one was on November 27, 2010.  This final one suggests that we have a chance to make the final changes to the way we handle the people and themes represented by these squares!  We can also look forward to them settled down after a series of 'electrifying' developments!

Venus Trine Uranus...

starts on January 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 5 at 12.33am in Kilmore, leaves on January 6.  Venus at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Scorpio, Jupiter at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Pisces.


This trine is happening at the same time as the Venus/Jupiter trine that I just wrote about, bringing together these three planets and energies together in a surprising, but lovely way.  Venus represents pleasure, opportunity and ease, whilst Jupiter represents these same themes but in a magnified way.  Uranus is the element of surprise in this mixture!  The trine from Venus suggests that this planet will act as the positive trigger for the potentially fabulous and unexpected opportunities that the conjunction of Jupiter/Uranus holds.

During this time you could make a surprisingly good amount of progress involving the situations and relationship represented by these energies through this transit.

Retrograde Mercury square Uranus...

starts on December 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 21 at 10.30am in Kilmore, leaves on December 22.  Retrograde Mercury at 26 degrees and 46 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 26 degrees and 46 minutes of Pisces.

Since Mercury is retrograde, this aspect is a repeat of the same one that happened on November 28, the only difference being that Mercury is retrograde this time around, while Uranus is now direct.  The aspect actually falls in the same degree as last time.  Read the post here.

Uranus goes Direct...

on December 6 at 12.50pm at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.


Uranus, the rebel and eccentric planet, goes direct after being retrograde for many months.  This change from backward to forward motion suggests that whatever or whoever is represented in our birth charts is going to get moving again after a long period of regression.

Look to see which house Uranus is traveling through to see who or what should begin making progress again, and also to which house/s are ruled by Aquarius.

Mars Square Retrograde Uranus...

starts on December 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on December 4 at 1.01am in Kilmore, leaves on December 5. Mars at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Sagittarius, retrograde Uranus at 26 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.

Mars travelling through the fiery sign of Sagittarius may contribute to the ignition of a volatile, 'electrical' situation... the combination of Mars and Uranus looks as though it will provide the spark that will ignite an unexpected and exciting turning point in the areas represented by your birth chart.  Neither one of these energies is exactly a shrinking violet, so it seems that this is likely to be a bit of a roller-coaster ride period of time.

This is a lovely, easy-going connection between the Sun and Uranus... and is likely to highlight and bring to our attention to silver-lining that Uranus has brought into our lives recently.

Mercury Trine Retrograde Uranus...

starts on November 6 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on November 7 in Kilmore at 11.15am, leaves on November 8.  Mercury at 27 degrees and 1 minutes of Scorpio and retrograde Uranus at 27 degrees and 1 minute of Pisces.

Mercury and Uranus both share a common 'feel' in that they are 'airy' and tend to stir up activity in whatever they touch on in our birth charts.  The easy connection through the trine aspect suggests that we can expect positive movement and developments in the areas of the chart affected by these two planets.

Uranus also tends to bring things up to 'warp-speed', so to speak!  Unusual or expected developments are common with this influence, but because of the easy-going trine these are likely to be welcome ones.

After the confusing Mars/Neptune square, the trine between these two planets is likely to give us a sudden burst of clarity and progress that will make up for a bit of the earlier floundering!

starts on October 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on October 3 at 12.23am in Kilmore, leaves on October 3.  Mercury at 28 degrees and 10 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 28 degrees and 10 minutes of Pisces.

A roller-coast ride is what I think of when I see this combination!  A lightning bolt too.... :).

It is important to keep a very open mind during this time because the information (Mercury) that comes our way is likely to be unexpected or be unusual (Uranus)... because of the involvement through the opposition aspect it is likely happen in a bit of a jarring way.  However, it is likely to help let go of outworn ways of thinking and to open up exciting new possibilities!
