Sun Conjunct Mercury...

starts on November 4 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact in Kilmore on November 5 at 7.02pm, leaves on November 7.  Sun and Mercury at 13 degrees and 2 minutes of Scorpio.

Wherever the Sun happens to be, is what is being lit up in your birth chart... and Mercury adds the themes of change and information.  The conjunction is always about something or someone new, and by looking at which house this energy falls in you can get a better idea of what or who is coming into your life.

The conjunction falling in a fixed water sign suggests a highly emotional content to whatever is happening, and that whatever begins now, even with changeable Mercury influence, is likely to be around for a while (fixed sign).

Sun Square Uranus...

today in Kilmore at 12.56am (just after midnight): Sun at 26 degrees and 33 minutes of Gemini/Uranus at 26 degrees and 33 minutes of Pisces.

I picked the picture of The Tower in the tarot because it reminds me of the energy of the Sun/Uranus combination. Uranus is about radical change in our lives and in modern astrology rules electricity (see the thunderbolt hitting the Tower?)! It also seems to hit hard when we resist the changes that are needed in our lives - for example I have Taurus Rising, so I tend to suffer from resistance to change... sometimes I need a lightening bolt to throw me out of ruts that aren't doing me any favours - even if I consciously know it! Fixed signs tend to resist change, but Taurus in particular because it is also an earth sign.

Anyway, the Sun acts as a trigger to longer term energies like Uranus that tends to hang around for a long time in one degree within the sign it is travelling in. The square aspect itself is very energetic and suggests a crisis and turning point being reached with the energies represented by the planets and houses involved.

So... this is an opportunity for us all to make the changes that are needed where Uranus is symbolised in our lives... possibly through the symbolism of the Sun.

Mercury Square Jupiter...

today in Kilmore at 1.34pm - Mercury at 26 degrees and 59 minutes of Taurus and Jupiter at 26 degrees and 59 minutes of Aquarius.

This is the third time that Mercury will be hitting on the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunction so I immediately think, 'third time lucky'! There is something that needs to be challenged and changed (square) in relation to the themes represented by these energies that we are all being a bit stuck (Taurus/Aquarius) on!

The last times that Mercury squared this conjunction were towards the end of April and again during mid-May: think back to those times to get an idea of where we may finally get the message!

Sun square Neptune...

today in Kilmore at 3.05pm (Sun at 26 degrees of Taurus/Neptune at 26 degrees of Aquarius).

Like the square from the Sun to Jupiter, this is a time to look at an area of life that is losing its boundaries in some way and to try a different approach. Sticking to facts and tangible (Taurus) may be part of the challenge when dealing with the nebulous energies of Jupiter and Neptune together!

As usual, have a look to your personal chart to understand where these themes may be especially prominent for you (and also have a look at my previous post relating to the Sun/Jupiter square). This square is likely to be felt especially strongly by those of you with fixed signs prominent in your chart (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius).

Mercury Square Jupiter...

today in Kilmore at 10.53am. Mercury will be at 22 degrees of Taurus, and Jupiter will be at 22 degrees of Aquarius.

With Mercury representing our thinking and decision-making, the way we take information in and give it out combining with the planet that has difficulty with boundaries, it may be wise to avoid making permanent decisions now. It seems that we will all have the tendency to make unrealistic plans or not notice the fine print with this influence in our lives.

Look to your birth chart for further clues, but this energy is likely to be especially strong for those of you with a strong Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and/or Aquarius energy in your birth chart.

Mercury Conjunct Neptune...

in Aquarius today at 8.40pm.

Let's see... combine thinking with fogginess and what do you get? Clouded thinking! I think being in a fixed sign suggests that we perhaps will be seeing things in a way that suits our own stubborn thinking.

Under this influence I would expect that we will all tend towards daydreaming, lack of clarity when communicating with others, being easily hoodwinked and also get lost easily. This energy is actually really great for those of you that are creative in any way because it gives you a link into the unseen elements of the world and helps to give expression to them.

Personally, I wouldn't sign paperwork or commit to anything huge right now. I think I'll stick with daydreaming or painting :).

Mercury enters Aquarius (again!)...

Mercury made a temporary entrance into Aquarius on Jan 1st or 2nd, depending on where you live... it only stayed there for a week or so before turning retrograde around January 11, and returning to Capricorn on January 22. It has stayed in that sign since then and went direct on February 2.

The return of this little planet to Aquarius further highlights the stellium in that zodiac sign and some of the intense activity in the areas represented by the houses affected in your own chart where Aquarius is.

Mercury is a busy little bee, and tends to stir up a lot of mental activity wherever it goes as well as picking the up the pace of life in the areas affected. With it returning to Aquarius it may be wise to look at what was happening with Mercury when it made the first entrance into this sign back at the beginning of January and look at how we can handle or communicate things better this time around.

Sun Conjunct Neptune...

Feeling a bit lost, confused? Perhaps foggy? This may apply to you particularly if you have a strong Taurean, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarian chart (this conjunction takes place in the fixed sign of Aquarius).

This conjunction becomes exact today, perhaps making this day a good one for avoiding (good Neptune word), making any binding or permanent decisions. Good for escaping reality through reading, watching a movie, meditating, or doing whatever takes you temporarily off this planet!
