Sun Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on June 27 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 28 at 3.19pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 29.  Sun at 6 degrees and 12 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Pluto at 6 degrees and 12 minutes of Capricorn.

Pluto usually represents deeply emotional and illogical areas of our life because the logic associated with the people and situations represented by this planet is so deeply buried.  The Sun touching on Pluto through this brief period of time is quite intense, because it ties in with the eclipse coming up shortly.

The opposition represents an opportunity to reach awareness, and a turning point in the relationships and situations represented by these energies; by looking at where this transit is happening in your birth chart you can get a feel for where you can expect progress, even though it is likely to be highly emotional!  The developments that come to a head now may relate back to a situation or person that was prominent when the Sun and Pluto were last conjunct.

Also look to which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp), in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer or Capricorn then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on June 19 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 20 at 5.18am in Kilmore, leaves on June 20.  Mercury at 6 degrees and 24 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Pluto at 6 degrees and 24 minutes of Capricorn.

Mercury is about how we communicate and how our minds process information, while Pluto tends to work at a deeply emotional level, which is mostly difficult to understand at a logical level.

The opposition presents the opportunity to view the people and situations represented by these two energies in your birth chart in an objective way... and to then understand them/it with as much clarity as you will ever reach.  By doing this, then you can reach a major turning point.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved: also look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Pluto (one with Scorpio on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Cancer or Capricorn then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Venus Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on April 30 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on May 1 at 10.14am in Kilmore, leaves on May 2.  Venus at 11 degrees and 54 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 11 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra.

Venus, the planet of relating, our values and pleasure connecting with Saturn, the planet of responsibility, structure and hard work doesn't seem like a good combination.  However, it can be good for us in terms of helping us to be realistic and able to work towards what we want to enjoy in our lives and helping us to develop the skills we need to relate successfully.

The opposition is about awareness, and may relate to a person or situation that came into your life when Venus and Saturn were last conjunct back in early August 2010 at about 1 degree of Libra.  What is happening now also represents a turning point in these matters.

As usual, look to see which houses are involved by looking at where this opposition is happening, as well as which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on them), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on them).

If you have personal planets/points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to feel this aspect more strongly than other people.

Mars Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on April 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 19 at 2.02am in Kilmore, leaves on April 20.  Mars at 12 degrees and 45 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 12 degrees and 45 minutes of Libra.

Mars likes action and to be able to push ahead at whatever it is working on... while Saturn prefers to move along slowly and steadily... more like a snails pace but very thorough. Oppositions relate to awareness and a turning point being reached.

If you look to where this opposition is happening in your birth chart you are likely to see where you are facing intense frustration as you try to push ahead in a certain direction... this frustration is likely to stem from a person or situation that you feel is holding you back or blocking your path.  This is also an opportunity to gain awareness (opposition) of whether or not what you are pushing for, is still valid in your life.

Although obviously frustrating, it is important to take a look at why this happening, perhaps the path you have chosen is not right for you, or perhaps you should slow down and pay attention to the details and facts before rushing along on assumptions - especially with Mercury currently being retrograde.

As usual, look at where this opposition is happening in your birth chart, and which houses are ruled by Mars and Saturn (ones with Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn and/or Aquarius on the cusps) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Sun Opposing Saturn...

starts on April 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on April 4 at 9.56am in Kilmore, leaves on April 5. Sun at 13 degrees and 52 minutes of Aries, Saturn at 13 degrees and 52 minutes of Libra.

This can be a bit of a tough one!  However, it does represent an opportunity to make changes that will help us all to reach a turning point in whatever areas of life are represented by these planets within our own birth charts.

The Sun illuminates and energises whatever it touches, and in this case it is retrograde Saturn, the planet associated with responsibility, hard work and restructuring.  The opposition suggests a new level of awareness that will help to reach the turning point that is needed, particularly in the relationships and themes represented by Saturn.

By looking at where this opposition falls, and which houses are ruled by the Sun (ones with Leo on the cusp) and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp) you can get a feel for which people and areas of life may be due for some attention.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may feel this energy more acutely than others, particularly with everything else going on in the sky at the moment.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Saturn...

starts on March 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on March 19 at 12.55am in Kilmore, leaves on March 19.  Mercury at 15 degrees and 07 minutes of Aries, retrograde Saturn at 15 degrees and 07 minutes of Libra.

Mercury, the planet of communication, information, and the way we connect with others joining forces with Saturn is likely to put a serious note on the information circulating around us now - particularly regarding a person or situation represented by Saturn that was prominent in the past (Saturn is retrograde).  Saturn also tends to slow down whatever it touches, so you could find that information is slow coming to you (delays in postage, emails, etc).

The opposition suggests a new level of objective awareness and also a turning point in the relationships and situations represented by these planets in your birth chart: oppositions usually mean that there is at least one other person that is part of the developments around this time.

If you look back to when Mercury and Saturn were conjunct, you may get an even better idea of what or who is coming to fruition or a turning point... they were last together on October 8, 2010 - both at 8 degrees and 39 minutes of Libra.  Read the post about that conjunction here.

As usual, you can look to see where this opposition falls in your birth chart, but also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on October 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on October 3 at 12.23am in Kilmore, leaves on October 3.  Mercury at 28 degrees and 10 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 28 degrees and 10 minutes of Pisces.

A roller-coast ride is what I think of when I see this combination!  A lightning bolt too.... :).

It is important to keep a very open mind during this time because the information (Mercury) that comes our way is likely to be unexpected or be unusual (Uranus)... because of the involvement through the opposition aspect it is likely happen in a bit of a jarring way.  However, it is likely to help let go of outworn ways of thinking and to open up exciting new possibilities!

Mercury also represents our mind, so it may simply be that we come to a sudden realisation about a certain person or situation in our lives as represented by our birth chart.

As usual look at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart to get a feel for what or who may be involved.  Look at which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Virgo or Pisces then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Jupiter...

starts on October 1 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on October 2 in Kilmore at 8.36am, leaves on October 2.  Mercury at 27 degrees of Virgo, retrograde Jupiter at 27 degrees of Pisces.

Yippee... Mercury and Jupiter connecting is generally a good reason to be feeling optimistic and at least a little bit happier about life and the people in it.

Mercury represents the way we connect with others and our general thinking/attitude (as well as young people), while Jupiter represents where our luck is found and opportunity - as well as where our boundaries may be lacking!

The opposition brings a new level of awareness and possibly a turning point in the people and situations represented by these planets.

As usual, look at where this aspect is falling and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who may be prominent right now.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Virgo or Pisces then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on September 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on September 22 at 2.58am in Kilmore, leaves on September 23.

As mentioned in my previous post, the Sun accents and lights up whatever it touches, and in this case it is the erratic, exciting and unpredictable Uranus making this a period of time where you can 'expect the unexpected'!

As usual, look at where this aspect is falling in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved, and remember that oppositions usually involve at least one other person.

Also look at which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Virgo and/or Pisces then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Jupiter...

starts on September 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on September 21 at 9.36pm in Kilmore, leaves on September 22.  Sun at 28 degrees and 23 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Jupiter at 28 degrees and 23 minutes of Pisces.

The Sun acts like a trigger in the skies.... or a bit like a magnifying glass: whatever it touches tends to be activated or gains prominence!

Jupiter recently went back into Pisces, suggesting that we all have a second chance at the opportunities that this planet in this sign brings us, depending on our own personal birth charts.

The opposition is an aspect that associated with awareness... particularly in relation to something or someone that came into our lives when the two planets were last conjunct.  In this case, the Sun and Jupiter were last conjunct early in March 2010 at about 9 degrees of Pisces.

So, by looking at where these aspects fall we can get a better idea of what or who will reach a turning point through awareness, and will most likely involve at least one other person since the opposition is also an aspect of 'relationship'.

Also look at which houses are ruled by the Sun (house with Leo on the cusp), and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Virgo and/or Pisces then you may be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

starts on August 19 using a 1 degree orb, is exact on August 20 in Kilmore at 8.07pm, leaves on August 21.  Sun at 27 degrees and 17 minutes of Leo, retrograde Neptune at 27 degrees and 17 minutes of Aquarius.

The Sun tends to illuminate whatever it touches, however, in this case it's a bit like shining a torch into fog... it seems to create more difficulty in seeing clearly!  The confusion and/or lack of clarity represented by this opposition is likely to involve at least one other person (since it is an opposition!), and may relate to something or someone that came into our lives when the Sun and Neptune were last conjunct around February 13, 2010 at about 24 degrees of Aquarius.

On a brighter note, this is a very creative, spiritual and/or artistic energy that supports daydreaming, imagination and escaping reality in general... great for a few drinks or for getting out your paints if you are so inclined!  Not the best for making a clear-minded decision though.

Look to see where this opposition is falling and which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Leo or Aquarius you may be more sensitive than others to this energy.

Retrograde Jupiter Opposing Saturn...

starts on August 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on August 17 at 6.45am in Kilmore, leaves on August 22.  Retrograde Jupiter at 2 degrees and 26 minutes of Aries, Saturn at 2 degrees and 26 minutes of Libra.

Woo hoo... another Jupiter/Saturn opposition... here is the link to entry I did for the last one.  The difference between the last one and this one, is that this time the opposition is happening in cardinal signs, making it more dynamic and perhaps more visible in our lives.

I won't repeat everything I wrote in my first entry on this opposition... just have a look at it again.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Venus Opposing Jupiter...

enters on August 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on August 10 at 9.40am in Kilmore, leaves on August 11.  Venus at 2 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra, retrograde Jupiter at 2 degrees and 54 minutes of Aries.

Both Venus and Jupiter are associated with 'luck'... however, too much of a good thing sometimes isn't so good!  The connection of these two through the energetic opposition sometimes means that we overdo things a little.

As long as we all keep our expectations realistic and don't go overboard this opposition can present an opportunity in the relationships and/or areas of life touched on by them.  A turning point in regards to a person or situation that came into our lives when these two planets were last conjunct is likely also, since the opposition represents the most objective part of a cycle in terms of aspects.  Venus and Jupiter were last conjunct in the middle of February at about 6 degrees of Pisces.

By looking at where these planets are we can get a feel for where discretion and a realistic outlook are likely to bring us happiness and some type of benefit.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by them (Venus = Taurus or Libra on the cusp; Jupiter = Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who will be reaching a turning point.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra, then you may be especially sensitive to this transit.

Venus Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on August 6 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on August 7 at 5.59pm in Kilmore, leaves on August 8.  Venus at 0 degrees and 10 minutes of Libra, retrograde Uranus at 0 degrees and 10 minutes of Aries.

Get ready for a surprise or two, probably involving a relationship or financial matter!  Venus represents these matters as well as your values.  Uranus represents the unexpected and unusual in our lives, whilst the opposition represents a turning point in something or with someone that began or came into our lives when Venus and Uranus were last conjunct.  This  happened last time in early in March 2010 at 25 degrees of Pisces.

By looking at where this opposition is landing in our birth charts we can get a feel for what or who may be reaching a new point of awareness, even if this does come in a way that we don't expect!  This period of time represents a new sense of freedom and a turning point being reached with these matters.  Also look to see which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra - especially the first couple of degrees - then you may be especially sensitive to this energy.

Mars Opposing Retrograde Jupiter...

starts on August 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on August 4 at 2.20pm in Kilmore, leaves on August 6.  Mars at 3 degrees and 10 minutes of Libra, retrograde Jupiter at 3 degrees and 10 minutes of Aries.

Mars and Jupiter are both quite energetic planets, and the both connecting through the further energising opposition suggests that this is likely to be a powerful time for us all, particularly since this all happens in the cardinal signs of Aries and Libra.

As I have mentioned in earlier posts, Mars energises whatever it touches, and in this case it is Jupiter which has been in the early degrees of Aries for a few weeks now and has already turned around is going back into Pisces in another few weeks.  Jupiter represents growth, opportunity, luck; and also legal, educational, and/or foreign people and places.

The opposition represents a major turning point in the people and situations represented by Mars and Jupiter in your birth chart... particularly someone or something that came into your life when Mars and Jupiter were last conjunct back in late February 2009 at about 9 or 10 degrees of Aquarius.

As usual look to see where this opposition is falling, and which houses are ruled by Mars (ones with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp) and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp) to get a feel for what or who is likley to be reaching a major turning point now.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra then you may feel this energy more strongly that others.

Mars Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on July 29 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 30 at 11.31pm in Kilmore, leaves on August 1.  Mars at 0 degrees and 20 minutes of Libra, retrograde Uranus at 0 degrees and 20 minutes of Aries.

Wow, what a combination... this is a bit like trying to combine a lit match with petrol without creating a destructive explosion!  The trick here is to consider how close you want to get the match to the petrol... and also to think about how much petrol there is.

Mars energises whatever it touches and adds a boost to progress, whilst Uranus represents the unexpected, unusual and sudden twists and turns of life and sometimes fate.  The opposition is an energetic aspect, adding fuel to this fire, and also represents a major turning point that is achieved by being objective about the people and situations represented by these planets in your birth chart.  These may relate to a person or situation that entered your life or became prominent when Mars and Uranus were last conjunct back around the middle of April 2009 at about 24 degrees of Pisces.

This is an opportunity to make quick progress with a long-standing situation, the trick is not to 'blow everything up'!  It is likely that this will be a volatile, but productive time.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by Mars (ones with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what and/or who is ready for a revolutionary turning point!

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aries or Libra, this is likely to be an important time for you.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

starts on July 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 26 at 8.03pm in Kilmore, leaves on July 27.  Mercury at 27 degrees and 57 minutes of Leo, retrograde Neptune at 27 degrees and 57 minutes of Aquarius.

Mercury, the planet of communication, information and connecting with the world around us in contact with the emotional, caring and nebulous Neptune through the opposition can be a bit like trying to shine a beam of light through thick fog!

The good news is that the opposition usually indicates a major turning point in a relationship or situation that began or was prominent when Mercury and Neptune were last conjunct late in February 2010 at about 26 degrees of Aquarius.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is happening in your birth chart and which houses Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp) rule in order to get a feel for what or who may be involved in some confusion right now.

If you have personal planets or points in Leo or Aquarius then you may be more sensitive than others to this energy.

Saturn Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on July 16 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on July 27 at 3.07am in Kilmore, leaves on August 5.  Saturn at 0 degrees and 25 minutes of Libra, retrograde Uranus at 0 degrees and 25 minutes of Aries.

This is last of a series of 5 oppositions between these two outer planets - yippee!  My last post on it is here.

The difference between the first four, and this last opposition, is that this time around it is happening in the cardinal signs which are much more energetic and likely to be experienced in an outer and more physical way than when they happened in the mutable signs of Virgo/Pisces.  There is an added element of instability since this opposition occurs at 0 degrees of Aries/Libra, which also activates the other outer planetary energies and aspects that are currently so prominent (Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, Pluto squaring this conjunction).

Saturn represents the tried, true and tested and is a conservative energy, whilst Uranus represents the need to break free, new technology, being eccentric and that lightning bolt out of the blue that shakes things up.  The opposition is a highly energetic aspect and tends to represent conflict, but new awareness, and action.

I tend to look at oppositions as a bit of a see-saw ride, it is a bit of a balancing act getting the ride to be stable.  In the case of this opposition it's a bit like Saturn is sitting on his end of the see-saw without moving an inch and is sitting very still, Uranus is sliding along his end of the see-saw relentlessly and is jumping up and down as well... destabilising the whole thing! (Jupiter is egging Uranus on too... !)

The trick to balancing these two energies is to let Uranus have a bit of a squirm, but with the wisdom and guidance of Saturn giving some boundaries.  Remember not to throw the baby out with the bathwater!

By looking at which houses this opposition falls in you will get a feel for what, or who, needs careful balancing.  As usual, also look to see which houses are ruled by Saturn (one with Capricorn on the cusp) and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp) to get more detail.

If you have personal planets and/or points (especially in the very early degrees) of Aries and/or Libra, then you are likely to feel this energy as particularly powerful.

Venus Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

starts on July 8 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact July 9 at 9.55am in Kilmore, leaves on July 10.  Venus at 28 degrees and 19 minutes of Leo, retrograde Neptune at 28 degrees and 19 minutes of Aquarius.

Let's all put our rose-coloured glasses on! Yippee!! Venus and Neptune together brings this urge on at some level for all of us... some more than others.

Venus is known as the pleasure planet, and Neptune is associated with the need to escape from reality: both symbolise artistic trends and creativity.  The opposition represents a turning point in a person or situation that began when the two planets were last conjunct (early in March 2010 at 25 degrees of Pisces).

If you keep your vision clear and expectations realistic this can be a lovely energy to have in terms of relationships and creativity.  By looking at where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp) and Neptune (one with Pisces on the cusp), you can get a feel for where you could experience this energy.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Leo or Aquarius may be more sensitive to this energy than others.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on June 27 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on June 27 at 5.15pm in Kilmore, leaves on June 28.  Mercury at 4 degrees and 4 minutes of Cancer, retrograde Pluto at 4 degrees and 4 minutes of Capricorn.

This intense and powerful combination of planets adds to the already dynamic eclipse energies currently around.
