Venus Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on October 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on October 10 at 9.01am, leaves on October 11. Venus at 23 degrees and 46 minutees of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 23 degrees and 46 minutes of Pisces.

Venus is often associated with relationships, our values and valuables, whilst Uranus is linked in with the rebel, eccentric people and unexpected situations... basically weird stuff!

The opposition is about reaching a turning point, usually involving another person. The combination of Venus and Uranus suggests an unexpected or unusual twist to this development, or perhaps it will happen suddenly. As usual, look to see which houses are involved by looking at where the transiting planets are travelling, and also to which houses are ruled by Venus (Taurus and Libra), and Uranus (Aquarius).

Another way to get more information is to look at what was happening at the beginning of this Venus/Uranus cycle, when both planets were conjunct. This happened around January 24, 2009 at 20 degrees of Pisces... so have a look at where this point is in your birth chart to get an idea of what to expect now.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on October 4 (using 1 degree orb), is exact on October 5 at 8.06am, leaves on October 6. Mercury at 23 degrees and 57 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 23 degrees and 57 minutes of Pisces.

Third time lucky.... I hope! Mercury opposed Uranus the first time on August 21 at 25 degrees and 40 minutes of the Virgo/Pisces axis. Once it went retrograde they again opposed each other on September 22 at 24 degrees and 23 minutes of the Virgo/Pisces axis.

This final opposition between Mercury and Uranus is again at 23 degrees of Virgo/Pisces - like the last one. This suggests to me a very similar situation or person being prominent again: the difference this time around being that it should be the last time we have to deal with it, or them. We will then be able to reach a turning point in the matter.

As usual, look to see which houses the opposition falls in, as well as which houses are ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo), and Uranus (Aquarius), to get a feel for what and who may be involved. In this case, also cast your mind back to what was happening at the previous oppositions.

Retrograde Mercury Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on September 22 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on September 24 at 1.36am in Kilmore, leaves on September 25. Retrograde Mercury at 24 degrees and 23 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 24 degrees and 23 minutes of Pisces.

Because Mercury is retrograde, this is the second time it is opposing Uranus... read my first post about this aspect here. I think I cannot already see some of you jumping out of your seats and running for the hills!

Anyway, it looks as though we will all need to go back for another dose of surprises and changes in the areas represented by this opposition... it is basically happening in the same area of the zodiac as well (last time it happened at 25 degrees of Virgo/Pisces). This time around, though, we will all be better prepared!

Venus Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

starts today in Kilmore and is exact at 7.37am, leaves on September 17. Venus at 24 degrees and 19 minutes of Leo, retrograde Neptune at 24 degrees and 19 minutes of Aquarius.

Venus, the planet of relating and representation of what we value is travelling through the fiery, passionate and stubborn sign of Leo. Its connection to Neptune, the planet of 'nebuolousness', escape and yearning suggests that we will all feel the need for something a bit 'more' where it comes to how we enjoy ourselves... perhaps some of us will become aware of a more altruistic side to our value system as well.

The opposition between these two planets represents a major turning point in the matters and people represented by them, especially in terms of what was started with Venus and Neptune were last conjunct on December 22, 2008 at 22 degrees of Aquarius.

Now we get to see these people and situations as objectively as we ever will (considering the involvement of Neptune!).

Sun Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts on September 16, is exact in Kilmore at 7.41pm on September 17, leaves on September 18. Sun at 24 degrees and 38 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 24 degrees and 38 minutes of Pisces.

The Sun can act as a trigger for some of the longer term energies operating in our lives, and in this case, is likely to to trigger further Saturn/Uranus energies as a sort of 'aftershock'! The Sun looks as though it will highlight where we need further changes, this process is likely to involve another person because of the opposition, and also has the potential to help us see the situations/people involved in the clearest was we have for ages.

Look to where this opposition is happening, and also to which houses are ruled by the Sun (Leo) and Uranus (Aquarius). This can be a very liberating time where we are all given the opportunity to see where we can, or need to, break free a little.

Venus Opposing Jupiter...

starts on September 10 (using a 1 degree orb), exact in Kilmore on September 11 at 5.54pm, leaves on September 12. Venus at 18 degrees and 47 minutes of Leo, retrograde Jupiter at 18 degrees and 47 minutes of Aquarius.

Enjoy this one while it lasts - especially with everything else happening in the sky that is likely to have us all sitting on the edge of our seats!

Venus is about relating and what we value and it's dynamic connection to Jupiter, the planet of growth and opportunity suggests that we all have the chance to see clearly where our luck and support is (whether this is a person or area of your life depends on your birth chart). A relationship or opportunity that came into your life when Venus and Jupiter were conjunct is likley to be particularly important now and reach a turning point. Venus and Jupiter were last conjunct at 22 degrees of Capricorn on December 2 2008.

As usual, look to see where these aspects happen in your own birth chart and which houses are ruled by Venus (Taurus and Libra), and Jupiter (Sagittarius), to get a fuller picture of what the stars are trying to tell you!

Saturn Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starting on September 9 (using a 1 degree orb), exact in Kilmore on September 15 at 10.51pm, leaves on September 22. Saturn at 24 degrees and 43 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 24 degrees and 43 minutes of Pisces.

Damn that Mercury retrograde! I've written about the current Saturn/Uranus opposition in the past and wanted to link to that post but can't find it now! lol!

Anyway, this energy has been around for nearly a year now on and off, and will happen another two times after this time. Saturn and Uranus together in a hard aspect reminds me of The Tower card in the tarot: in some area of our life we may feel as though a lightening bold (Uranus) shatters the structure (Saturn)that we have built.

Although this sounds a bit dramatic and scary, this energy won't necessarily be experienced as difficult: this is especially so if you know that something or someone needs to change. The energy being experienced now is likely to bring the opportunity to crack through some of those barriers to change!

Combined with other transits that are happening around this period of time, I feel that this is probably the most powerful out of the 4 Saturn/Uranus oppositions happening in Virgo/Pisces.

As usual, look to see where this transit is happening in your chart and which houses are ruled by Saturn (Capricorn) and Uranus (Aquarius). If you want even more info you can look to see where these two planets are natally.

Mars Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

starts on August 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact in Kilmore on August 27 at 6.35am, and leaves on August 28. Mars at 0 degrees and 43 minutes of Cancer, Retrograde Pluto at 0 degrees and 43 minutes of Capricorn.

Mars is still in at the anaretic zero degree of Cancer, so may still be a bit 'wobbly' after changing signs! This planet is about how we assert ourselves, and how we go after what we want (or who we want) in our lives.

Pluto is associated with deep emotions, transformation and change, as well as power and control. Being retrograde simply suggests that we have all had to go back to a person or situation in order to make some final touches to the changes in our lives associated with them.

Oppositions represents MAJOR turning points, and this is likely to be a powerful one (especially with all the current activity in the sky and hard aspects to Pluto). By looking back to when Mars and Pluto were last conjunct we can get an idea of what or who may be reaching a turning point in our lives. Think back to what was happening (something or someone new coming into your life) at the end of December 2008: this conjunction happened at 1 degree of Capricorn.

This opposition is about objectivity as well, so this is as objective as you will get in understanding what or who began at the end of last year.

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Uranus...

starts today (using a 1 degree orb), is exact at 9.47pm, and leaves August 22. Mercury at 25 degrees and 40 minutes of Virgo, retrograde Uranus at 25 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces.

Mercury is a planet associated with data, information, communication, 'exchanges' and connecting with others mentally. Uranus is VERY energetic and 'electrical', and the combination of these two energies through the dynamic opposition suggests to me a bit of a mind blowing time!

At one level something or someone may 'blow our minds'! Or perhaps a sudden realisation will dramatically change the way you handle a particular person or situation (probably related to something that started or someone that came into your life when Mercury and Uranus were conjunct last - around 22 March 2009 at 23 degrees of Pisces).

So, by looking at where these aspects are you can get a better idea of what to expect. Also look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo), and Uranus (Aquarius).

Sun Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

starts (with a 1 degree orb) on August 17, exact on August 18 at 6.55am (Sun at 25 degrees and 4 minutes of Leo, retrograde Neptune at 25 degrees and 4 minutes of Aquarius), leaves on August 19.

Mmmm, the Sun combining with Neptune through the opposition could manifest in sooooooo many ways!

As some of you are probably already aware, the Sun acts as a trigger when connecting with other planetary energies so highlights whatever it touches. The picture I am getting with this combination is trying to drive through a thick fog with high beam lights on in the car: which makes vision worse, not better.

It seems that at some level we may be looking too much at a situation in the wrong way or on the wrong level, making whatever we are focusing on look distorted... kind of like looking at the magic images that look like random shapes, etc until you look at them in a certain way (I've never been able to do this successfully). So, I get the feeling that we all need to look to what this opposition means by looking at where the Sun and Neptune are in the birth chart and which houses they rule (Sun = Leo, Neptune = Pisces) to get an idea of where we need to look at things in a different way or on another level.

Perhaps we need to use our inner vision rather than our physical vision.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Jupiter...

starts August 14 (using a 1 degree orb), exact on August 15, and leaves on August 16. Sun at 22 degrees and 4 minutes of Leo, Retrograde Jupiter at 22 degrees and 4 minutes of Aquarius.

The Sun is like a trigger or spotlight in the dark, that illuminates something that has always been there but we notice because there is a starker focus on it than usual. The contact to Jupiter, the planet of expansion and usually good fortune suggests that we have the chance to view this planet clearly and as objectively as we will for some time (the opposition aspect puts two planets/points as far away from each other as is possible, suggesting a clear viewing of each other for all that they encompass).

This opposition brings to mind a situation or person that began or came into our lives when the Sun and Jupiter were last conjunct at 23 degrees of Aquarius around February 12 this year. As usual look to the houses involved in the aspects mentioned as well as the houses ruled by the Sun (Leo) and Jupiter (Sagittarius and Pisces).

Venus Opposing Retrogade Pluto...

today in Kilmore at 9.35am. Venus at 1 degree and 4 minutes of Cancer, Retrograde Pluto at 1 degree and 4 minutes of Capricorn.

This is the first aspect Venus makes as it heads into Cancer... what a baptism of fire! Venus is about how we relate and what we value, and this connection to Pluto through the opposition suggests that we are in the process of understanding what this means to us through an intensely emotional development involving another person... perhaps through learning to compromise where our values or relating skills are very different (opposition).

Pluto going backwards suggests that we need to go over old ground in regards to an illogically intense aspect of our life, this planet is associated with having to dig deep and look further than the surface at situations and the relationships in our lives.

Both Venus and Pluto are moving through cardinal signs, which suggest that the people and situations represented by these planets have more power than usual to make the changes necessary to reach a turning point (opposition). By looking back to when and where Venus and Pluto were last conjunct, we can get further information about what is happening around the current opposition. This last conjunction happened at 29 degrees of Sagittiarus around the middle of November 2008, so whatever started or whoever entered our lives around then is likely to be under objective scrutiny now!

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Neptune...

today in Kilmore at 5.47pm. Mercury at 25 degrees and 33 minutes of Leo, Retrograde Neptune at 25 degrees and 33 minutes of Aquarius.

Mercury, the planet associated with logic and data connecting with Neptune, the planet associated with 'other realms' and 'gut instincts' can be a bit tricky to handle constructively. Although I personally don't think this is the best time to handle situations that require clear thinking, that would depend on your own chart overall. The combination of Mercury and Neptune through this opposition suggests to me that this is a better time for doing something creative, especially if you have any type of artistic ability... if not, try some good old-fashioned day-dreaming!

On another level, oppositions quite often mean that there is at least one other person involved in something going on right now - perhaps a person or situation that came into your life or consciousness in early March this year when Mercury and Neptune were conjunct at about 22 degrees of Aquarius. Now is the time to be able to look at this person/situation as objectively as you can.

Naturally, by looking at where the transiting planets are and which houses they rule you will get a better picture of what to look for!

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Jupiter...

today in Kilmore at 8.38pm. Mercury at 24 degrees and 1 minutes of Leo, Retrograde Jupiter at 24 degrees and 1 minute of Aquarius.

Mercury, the planet of communication, data and information connecting with Jupiter, the planet of understanding information through the opposition suggests a major turning point in our ability to put the pieces of a certain puzzle together to produce a coherent 'big picture'.

The days around today and the energies working now suggest that we all have the chance to view a certain person or situation as objectively as we ever will: this person or situation is likely to have been something or someone new in our lives back in late December 2008/early January 2009 when Mercury and Jupiter were conjunct at the last few degrees of Capricorn.

You can look to see where this conjunction happened in your birth chart back then, and to where the current opposition is happening to get an idea of what to look for in your life (as well as the signs these planets rule in your birth chart - Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).

Mercury Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

today in Kilmore at 1.29am. Mercury at 1 degree and 42 minutes of Cancer and Retrograde Pluto at 1 degree and 42 minutes of Capricorn.

Wow, this is a pretty intense energy combination (and first aspect that Mercury makes as it moves in Cancer)! This suggests that a highly emotional situation (Mercury in Cancer... contacting Pluto) or person is likely to be accented in our lives right now. This person or situation is likely to be very complex because of the Plutonian influence, but also in need of restructuring and change. The opposition suggests that we will have the chance to view this situation as objectively as we ever will, considering the emotional nature of this configuration, and also be able to reach a turning point with it.

Sometimes it's helpful to look back to when planets involved in an aspect were conjunct (symbolically the start of their relationship), to see what was happening around then in terms of what is happening now. The last time Mercury and Pluto were conjunct was in mid-December 2008 at 0 degrees of Capricorn. Look to see where this conjunction happened in your chart, and also which houses are ruled by these planets (Gemini, Virgo and Scorpio) to get an idea of what people and issues may be important as part of this planetary pairing.

Sun Opposing Retrograde Pluto...

today in Kilmore at 5.42pm: Sun at 1 degree and 59 minutes of Cancer, Retrograde Pluto at 1 degree and 59 minutes of Capricorn.

Wow... what an entrance! This is the first aspect the Sun is making as it enters Cancer and suggests an intensely emotional focus and turning point involving the areas of life and people represented by Cancer, the Sun, Pluto and Scorpio in your birth chart. The opposition suggests the involvement of another person that is likely to present the opportunity for you to gain a deeper understanding of them and the relevenat situations in your life... oppositions also herald a turning point with these people and situations. If you look back to when the Sun and Pluto were conjunct in late December 2008, there may be situations that were important then, that are part of the picture now.

Mars Opposing Saturn

... today at 10.55am in Kilmore.

Mars likes action and to be able to push ahead at whatever it is working on... while Saturn prefers to move along slowly and steadily... more like a snails pace but very thorough (especially in Virgo!). Oppositions relate to awareness and a turning point being reached.

The visual image I get is that of Mars hitting a brick wall (Saturn)!

If you look to where this opposition is happening in your birth chart you are likely to see where you are facing intense frustration as you try to push ahead in a certain direction... this frustration is likely to stem from a person or situation that you feel is holding you back or blocking your path.

Although obviously frustrating, it is important to take a look at why this happening, perhaps the path you have chosen is not right for you, or perhaps you should slow down and pay attention to the details and facts before rushing along on assumptions??? (Mars in Pisces).

I better go and have another look at my chart now.... lol!

Mercury Opposing Saturn...

in Pisces/Virgo today at 3pm.

The opposition is about reaching awareness, sometimes through conflict and is related symbolically to the Full Moon in which we gain illumination. Mercury is about our thinking, communication and understanding, while Saturn is about serious stuff, contraction and responsibilities.

Mercury in Pisces tends to be a bit dreamy and can mean that the information we give out and receive gets a bit 'foggy', Saturn in Virgo is about working on the 'details' and paying attention to these. The combination of these energies suggest that we all have to work harder at making sure our communication/thinking is clear and precise, but still sensitive and flexible.

Saturn in Virgo can also help us all to give form to our creative Mercury in Pisces: look to your birth chart to see which areas may be part of this theme.

Sun Opposing Saturn...

in Pisces/Virgo at 6.52am today.

The Sun lights up and helps us to focus on whatever it touches... in this case Saturn, the planet of blood, sweat and tears (but also rewards for work well done).

Oppositions tend to help us see situations objectively, so the opposition between these two planets suggests that we will be able to see clearly an issue that began when these two planets were conjunct early in September 2008. By looking at where the conjunction happened in your birth chart you can get an idea of what is being addressed by the opposition now.

Being in the Pisces/Virgo signs suggests that there is an element of needing to pay attention to details vs the need to dream and look at the big picture, we may all need to learn to balance these two approaches in whichever areas of the birth chart where this opposition falls.
