Mars is the planet of action, passion, getting things done, acting before thinking, drive, direction, etc and gives us the direction we need in life to focus our energies. Saturn is often associated with responsibility, slowing down, thinking before acting, and structure.
These two planets like to get things done but have a very different approach to each other, making the connection between them frustrating - especially through the square which suggests that they will be working at cross-purposes to each other. This is likely to be an extremely frustrating and irritating period of time for everyone when we will probably feel blocked and unable to move ahead on our current path.
By looking at when these two planets were last in a hard aspect we can get an idea of what was happening then and what may need attention now. Mars and Saturn were in opposition early in April this year at 16 degrees of Pisces/Virgo.
Look at where the opposition took place in your birth chart in terms of your houses, and also the current square to get a feel for where you may need to try a different appraoch (a square is often a period of time where a new approach is needed, that leads to a turning point in a frustrating situation). Also look to see which houses have Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn and Aquarius on them to fill in the details.

Mercury enters Leo...
The planet of communication and connection with the world around us moving from watery, emotional Cancer into the fiery and fixed influence of Leo suggests that we are likely to be more passionate in how we communicate with others and also that our thinking is likely to be more stable, fixed and possibly stubborn.
When looking at your own chart and the houses ruled by Mercury (Gemini and Virgo), the movement of Mercury into Leo suggests that the areas and people represented by Mercury will also be more stable, passionate and loyal than usual.
For example, I have Gemini on my 2nd House cusp, so I would expect that my finances will stabilise during this time (as well as issues around my self-esteem).

Sun Conjunct Retrograde Venus...
today in Kilmore at 5.54am.
If you can imagine the Sun rising in the morning when everything is dark and gloomy, bringing light, clarity, and the ability to see things much better than in the darkness you can imagine that this planet can help us to focus and see clearly the planet it connects with.
Venus is about how we attract the things and people we want/value into our lives and she is currently travelling backwards through the sky (from our perspective here on Earth).
This brings a visual image of the Sun racing towards Venus, while Venus is racing towards the Sun... almost like two people running towards each other in one of those cheesy, romantic movies!
On a more serious note, this conjunction happens in Aries - an energy that suggests that we will not be waiting around for things to just happen... Aries is a sign that is known for taking the lead and making things happen, and this conjunction is also quite energetic - the two planets are moving towards each other.
I think this is an important time for all of us to become a little more proactive in redefining what is truly important and what we most value. The current retrograde motion of Venus will help us through this process and the conjunction of the Sun with Venus will help to illuminate what we need to focus on. Look to the house position of this conjunction for clues.
