Saturn goes Retrograde...

on January 26 at 5.09pm in Kilmore at 17 degrees and 15 minutes of Libra.

Saturn, the planet associated with karma and being a taskmaster, but also an energy that rewards hard work, does a turn around today and starts going back to where it came from!

It seems that we all have to go back and review the work we have put into certain areas of our lives and certain relationships: these are likely to be described by the house Saturn is visiting and also the houses ruled by him (ones with Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusp or intercepted in them).

If you are a Libran, Capricorn or Aquarian then you are likely to be especially sensitive to this change in direction of Saturn.

Mercury Square Saturn...

starts on January 26 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 26 at 8.58am in Kilmore, leaves on January 27.  Mercury at 17 degrees and 13 minutes of Capricorn, Retrograde Saturn at 17 degrees and 13 minutes of Libra.

Mercury is the planet associated with communicating in whatever form gets your message across, and being in Capricorn it seems that communication in general will have more of a serious tone than usual. Saturn usually brings up serious matters that we have to work hard at, but also brings long-lasting rewards for our efforts, so in effect we have a double-whammy 'serious' note to this energy combination.

The connection of these two planets through the square suggests a bit of stress and/or struggle between the two energies, and then a turning point being reached.  It seems that there may be a serious decision or perhaps a communication blockage that needs attention now, as well a change in attitude or understanding (which is likely to be the key to successfully handling this matter).  This may relate back to a person or situation that came into our lives when Mercury and Saturn were last conjunct back in October (8th) 2010.  Read that post here.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling to get a feel for what or who may be at odds... as well as looking at the houses ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn and/or Libra, then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Jupiter re-enters Aries...

on January 23 at 4.11am in Kilmore.

Jupiter first went into Aries on June 6 and stayed there until September 9, when it re-entered Pisces whilst retrograde.  This second entrance gives us all a second chance to make the most of this wonderful energy.

Have a look at my original post regarding this transit here.

Sun enters Aquarius...

on January 20 at 9.19pm in Kilmore.

By looking at which house/s are ruled by the Sun, you can get an idea of what or who will change gears when the Sun moves from the serious and hard-working Capricorn into the stable and social sign of Aquarius (there is still a bit of a serious side to Aquarius, since this sign in traditional astrology is ruled by Saturn as well).

Also look to see which house the Sun is travelling through to get an idea of which relationships and areas of life are likely to be 'lit up' as the Sun travels around your chart!

Full Moon in Capricorn...

on January 20 at 8.21am in Kilmore.

Here comes another Full Moon at the unstable 29th degree!

A Full Moon in general is a period of feelings being heightened and for a better level of awareness being reached in the situations touched on by the lunation: look at which houses the Sun and Moon fall in to get a feel for what or who may be more emotional than usual.

This lunation, as I said, falls in the 29th degree of Capricorn. Whenever a planet falls in the final degree of a sign this gives a feeling of instability and change as the planet is leaving one sign and preparing to enter another one.  It's a bit like have one foot in one room, and the other just about to hit the ground in the next.  Symbolically, it seems that we are about to have a 'aha' moment just as we have to leave it behind!

With this lunation you can see that the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is forming a sextile to the Sun and a trine to the Moon, suggesting easy progress being made, and support being available with the themes that are prominent during this Full Moon.  Look at where this conjunction is to get a feel for who or what is likely to provide some help.

Mercury Conjunct Pluto...

starts on January 17 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 18 at 4.50pm in Kilmore, leaves on January 19.  Both at 5 degrees and 56 minutes of Capricorn.

This is the third conjunction in a serious of three because of the recent retrograde motion of Mercury.  The first one happened on December 6, 2010, the second one was on December 14, 2010.  You can read the original entry here.

The final conjunction happening now gives us all the opportunity to fully understand the situations represented as part of this triple conjunction at a very deep, and powerful level.

Mars enters Aquarius...

on January 16 at 9.41am in Kilmore.

Mars changing signs is always important because it means that our energy levels will change (and where we focus our energy on also changes).

The move from Capricorn to Aquarius means that the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) will be given a boost of energy that can be quite powerful and will need to be handled consciously. Aggression vs assertion will be a fine line for the fixed people!

By looking at which house Mars is travelling through and which house has Aquarius on the cusp, you can get a feel for which areas of life, and which relationships, are about to be given an energy shot.  You may also notice that the themes represented by the houses ruled by Mars (ones with Aries or Scorpio on the cusp), may also shift gears from being 'Capricorn' in flavour, more to being 'Aquarian'.

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Aquarius are likely to find this to be an important time in redefining where you will focus your energy.

Mercury enters Capricorn...

on January 13 at 10.25pm in Kilmore.

This is the second time that Mercury has gone into Capricorn in recent times because it was retrograde a little while ago... this return to Capricorn suggests the opportunity to now finalise the situations that went a bit pear-shaped when Mercury went retrograde early in December 2010.

Initially Mercury made a short visit from December 1 until it went retrograde and went back into Sagittarius on December 19.  If you think back to what or who was prominent back then because of a lot of change, an increase in focus and/or a lot of discussion around them (look at which house Mercury is travelling through, which house has Capricorn, Gemini and/or Virgo on it to get some clues), you can get a feel for what you can expect to become prominent again.  The difference this time is that you can expect decisions made and progress made to be more settled and reliable.

The original post talking about Mercury entering Capricorn is here.

Mercury Square Jupiter...

starts on January 11 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 12 at 7.37am in Kilmore, leaves on January 13.  Mercury at 28 degrees and 8 minutes of Sagittarius, Jupiter at 28 degrees and 8 minutes of Pisces.

Like the Mercury/Uranus square... this is the final in a serious of squares to Jupiter from Mercury.  The first one was on November 26, 2010 and the second one was on December 22, 2010.  Have a look at the original post about this aspect here.

The good news is that situations in general (as symbolised in our individual birth charts) should start to settle down and become more reliable once this aspect has been completed.

Mercury Square Uranus...

starts on January 10 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 11 at 11.13am in Kilmore, leaves on January 12.  Mercury at 27 degrees and 13 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 27 degrees and 13 minutes of Pisces.

This is the third and final series of squares to Uranus from Mercury... the last one was on December 21, 2010 and the first one was on November 27, 2010.  This final one suggests that we have a chance to make the final changes to the way we handle the people and themes represented by these squares!  We can also look forward to them settled down after a series of 'electrifying' developments!

Read the original post from the first square in this series here.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling to get an idea of what or who may be involved, and also to which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Sagittarius and/or Pisces then you may feel this energy more strongly than others.

Venus enters Sagittarius...

on January 7 at 11.30pm.

Venus moving the intensely emotional and fixed Scorpio into the easier to read and flexible sign of Sagittiarus suggests that the way we relate to others is about to become a bit freer.

By looking at where Venus is travelling through your birth chart and which houses are ruled by her (the ones with Taurus and Libra on the cusp or in it), you can get a feel for what and who is likely to be less intense, more flexible and also easier to understand.

For example, if you have Taurus Rising, you yourself may become less stubborn and driven by deeply buried emotional issues, and become more flexible and easier to understand!

Whichever house is being visited by Venus is also likely to benefit by her presence... for example, if you have Venus moviing into your 8th house you are likely to do well with investments, with tax returns, or through your partner having a small win in these areas.

Sun Square Saturn...

starts on January 7 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 8 at 1am in Kilmore, leaves on January 9.  Sun at 16 degrees and 54 minutes of Capricorn, Saturn at 16 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra.

The Sun tends to energies whatever it touches and highlights and acts as a 'trigger' for some of the longer term energies that are around.  In this case, the Sun accentuates Saturn.

Because the aspect between the Sun and Saturn is a square, this suggests tension - but a turning point... sometimes the only way we get motivated enough to do something about a situation is when it annoys us enough to do something about it!  That situation that causes us enough annoyance is likely to be something or someone represented by Saturn in our birth charts (look to see where it is travelling, and also which houses have Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp to get an idea).

The square is a waxing one, so we may need a shift in the way we deal with the people and situations involved in order to make progress.

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by the planets in order to get a feel for what, or who, may need a new attitude or approach.  If you have personal planets and/or points in Libra and/or Capricorn then you are likely to feel this energy more than others.

Venus Trine Uranus...

starts on January 3 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on January 5 at 12.33am in Kilmore, leaves on January 6.  Venus at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Scorpio, Jupiter at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Pisces.

This trine is happening at the same time as the Venus/Jupiter trine that I just wrote about, bringing together these three planets and energies together in a surprising, but lovely way.  Venus represents pleasure, opportunity and ease, whilst Jupiter represents these same themes but in a magnified way.  Uranus is the element of surprise in this mixture!  The trine from Venus suggests that this planet will act as the positive trigger for the potentially fabulous and unexpected opportunities that the conjunction of Jupiter/Uranus holds.

During this time you could make a surprisingly good amount of progress involving the situations and relationship represented by these energies through this transit.

As usual, look to see where this transit is happening in your birth chart and also which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus and/or Libra on the cusp) and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp).

Venus Trine Jupiter...

starts on January 3 (using a 1 degree orb), exact on January 5 at 12.39am in Kilmore, leaves on January 6.  Venus at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Scorpio, Jupiter at 27 degrees and 2 minutes of Pisces.

Combined with the trine to Uranus, this is an especially lovely aspect to have and is likely to highlight the benefits and opportunities that the current Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is or will be bringing into our lives!

Both Venus and Jupiter are known to bring good fortune and pleasure into our lives, and the two connecting with a lovely trine suggest that they are working together to at least give us a period of respite from some of the difficulties we may be experiencing at this time, or at least some more support!

As usual, look to see where this aspect is falling and which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp) and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp) in order to get a feel for where you may get a lucky break.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Scorpio and/or Pisces, then this is likely to be an easier time for you.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Capricorn...

on January 4 at 8.03pm in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 38 minutes of Capricorn.

Like the last eclipses, this one looks pretty intense and serious because of the involvement of Pluto!  Have a look at the line up in Capricorn!

As I just mentioned, there's the intense Pluto/Node conjunction starting off the stellium in Capricorn, then the New Moon Eclipse, followed by the fiery Mars.  You can see that Saturn joins in the picture through the square it makes to this lunation.  I am just focusing on the aspects made to the actual lunation, so there isn't a lot else happening in terms of the joining of forces with other planets to this eclipse/lunation.

The square here is actually likely to be helpful in getting the energy moving, since squares are pretty dynamic (even though they can be frustrating)!  Look at where Saturn is in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by him in order to get a feel for where you could be experiencing intense frustration, but also where you can expect a breakthrough around the time of this eclipse.

As usual, look to see where this eclipse and various planets fall in your birth chart to get a feel for what to expect... this one is especially important for people with personal planets and points in Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and/or Libra.
