Mercury enters Pisces...

on February 22 at 7.53am in Kilmore.

Mercury moves from the intellectual and fixed sign of Aquarius into the more emotional and flexible sign of Pisces today... suggesting that the people and situations represented by Mercury in your birth chart will tend to be more 'Piscean' during this stay.

For example, I have Virgo on my 4th and 5th House cusps, so I would expect family members and domestic concerns to be easier to negotiate with... children and people at home are less likely to be as stubborn as they have been recently: however, they are likely to be less rational as well!

As a general theme though, Mercury travelling through Pisces suggests a dreamy mental trend, where creativity is accented.

Mercury tends to increase the pace of whatever it gets involved in, and with the particularly strong focus on Pisces right now, it seems that whichever house has this sign on and/or in it will become even more hectic!

Jupiter Square Pluto...

starts on February 21 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 26 at 7.40am in Kilmore, leaves on March 3.  Jupiter at 7 degrees and 2 minutes of Aries, Pluto at 7 degrees and 2 minutes of Capricorn.

This is the final square in a series of three that was exact on on July 25, 2010 (Jupiter was then retrograde at 3 degrees and 23 minutes of Aries, and retrograde Pluto was at 3 degrees and 23 minutes of Capricorn); and again on August 3, 2010 - retrograde Jupiter at 3 degrees and 12 minutes of Aries, retrograde Pluto at 3 degrees and 12 minutes of Capricorn.

Read about this aspect here

If you have personal planets or points in Aries or Capricorn, then you may be especially sensitive to this energy.

Mercury Conjunct Neptune...

starts on February 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 21 at 12.07pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 22.  Both at 28 degrees and 31 minutes of Aquarius.

Mercury, the planet of communication and connection with others and the world around us joining forces with the confusing and idealistic Neptune can be a tricky combination to work with.  Although it is an excellent one for creative writing, expressing something artistic and/or for daydreaming in general, it generally isn't good for viewing people and situations clearly.

Since this is a conjunction, this usually indicates a 'meeting'... Mercury is the one chasing Neptune, so it seems that whatever or whoever is represented by Mercury is the one who is doing the chasing.  Look to see which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini or Virgo on the cusp), to get an idea of what or who this may be... the same applies to Neptune.  Look to see which house is ruled by Pisces to get a feel for what or who will be visited by the nimble Mercury during this time.  Whatever and whoever is represented by this conjunction will need to be looked at using FACTS (rather than assumptions)... this will help ease any confusion or misunderstanding.

Also look to see where this conjunction is happening to get a feel for where this meeting of energies may occur, for example, if it falls in your 4th house it may be at home.

If you have personal planets or points in Aquarius then you are likely to feel this aspect quite strongly.

Mercury Conjunct Mars...

starts on February 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 21 at 9.44am in Kilmore, leaves February 22.  Both at 28 degrees and 20 minutes of Aquarius.

The first thing that comes to mind with this combination is that we all have to make sure we don't become too quick to open our mouths before thinking!

Mercury represents our thinking and the way we communicate with the people and world around us... while Mars is a pretty fiery and impulsive character.  Although irritating or upsetting, however, sometimes things need to be said!  The conjunction offers the opportunity for a fresh start in the areas affected by these planets and to make this fresh start we may all need to clear the air and make sure matters are clear to everyone involved.

As usual look at which house this conjunction is falling in and which houses are ruled by the planets involved (Mercury = house cusps with Gemini or Virgo on them, Mars = house cusps with Aries or Scorpio on them).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aquarius then you may feel this aspect more strongly than others.

Mars Conjunct Neptune...

starts on February 20 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 21 at 3.17pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 22.  Both at 28 degrees and 31 minutes of Aquarius.

Mars represents and energy, drive and direction whilst Neptune is about being nebulous, foggy and/or spiritual. Combining these two energies can be expressed in a lot of different ways but the first mix that I get a feel for is being confused about which direction to take on an issue represented by where this conjunction occurs in your natal chart.

I think that one of the most constructive ways to utilise this energy is through working on something or with someone where there is an altruistic element to the activity. Artistic endeavours are also good.

Being a conjunction, this energy gives us the chance to make a fresh start.

Sun enters Pisces...

on February 19 at 11.25am in Kilmore.

The sun moving from the fixed, logical and social sign of Aquarius into the more fluid, adaptable and emotional sign of Pisces suggests a change in tone to where our focus will be.  People and situations ruled by the Sun in your chart (look to see which house is ruled by Leo), are likely to become more adaptable and emotional while the Sun is travelling through Pisces.

You can also look to where the Sun is travelling in your birth chart while it is in Pisces, because it will be likely that it will focus your attention onto where (and who) carries Piscean traits.

Full Moon in Aquarius...

on February 18 at 7.36pm in Kilmore at 29 degrees and 20 minutes of Aquarius.

The days around the time of a Full Moon are generally ones where emotions are heightened, and feelings run a bit rampant!  They are also a period of time when a new awareness comes about, particularly in relation to something or someone that came into our lives at around the time of the last New Moon.

This lunation is in Aquarius, a fixed, air sign: suggesting that there is a focus on perhaps mentally either needing to show more flexibility... or less!

As you can see in the actual chart, there are a whole lot of planets bunched up around the Sun... I'm only looking at the ones in Aquarius so we have have Mercury, Mars, Neptune and then the Sun.  What a combination!

The Mercury/Mars/Neptune combination gives me the feeling that communication mix ups may be prominent (Neptune), or the way we think may be a bit too fixed (Aquarius) to see a situation clearly.  We may jump to conclusions or think we know it all (Mercury/Mars)!

The good news is that because this is a Full Moon (awareness), we are all more likely to realise or see where this is happening, depending on where this lunation is falling in our birth charts.

Venus Square Retrograde Saturn...

starts on February 18 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 19 at 6.21am in Kilmore, leaves on February 20.  Venus at 16 degrees and 44 minutes of Capricorn, retrograde Saturn at 16 degrees and 44 minutes of Libra.

Retrograde Saturn suggests that we all have loose ends to work on in whatever areas of life are represented by him in your birth chart as he travels along his route.  Venus represents pleasure, fun and enjoyment in general, as well as how we attract these things/people into our lives.

The square aspect between these two planets suggests a period of tension and adjustment: the square usually represents a cross-road being reached in the areas and relationships represented by the symbolism of these planets within your birth chart.  It seems that there needs to be a shift in the way things are done for progress to be made.

In order to get a feel for where these themes are personally important to you look to see which houses the planets are travelling through and also look to see which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp).

If you have personal planets and/or points in Capricorn and/or Libra then you are likely to be more sensitive than others to this transit.

Sun Conjunct Neptune...

starts on February 16 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 17 at 8.56pm in Kilmore, leaves February 18.  Both at 28 degrees and 22 minutes of Aquarius.

Tricky, but inspirational Neptune is being accented and 'lit up' by the connection with the Sun during this time.  The Sun illuminates whatever it touches and the conjunction is an especially powerful connection.  It suggests a new, unconscious start or merging of these two energies and the themes/people they represented in your birth chart.  The trick is to sort out fantasy from the truth with the involvement of Neptune.

A conjunction is a meeting of two planets, and the Sun is chasing Neptune... symbolically this suggests that whatever or whoever is represented by Neptune is being chased by whatever or whoever is represented by the Sun.  By looking at where this conjunction is happening and which houses are ruled by the Sun (house with Leo on the cusp) and Neptune (house with Pisces on cusp), you can get a feel for what, or who this may be.

If you have personal planets or points in Aquarius, then this energy is likely to be especially powerful.

Mercury Trine Retrograde Saturn...

starts on February 14 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 14 at 7.48pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 15.  Mercury at 16 degrees and 54 minutes of Aquarius, retrograde Saturn at 16 degrees and 54 minutes of Libra.

Mercury moving through the eccentric but stubborn and airy sign of Aquarius suggests that the way we communicate with others will be pretty open.  Saturn is retrograde in Libra, suggesting that we can all expect situations represented by this planet to be regressing or going over old ground.

The connection of Mercury and Saturn through the trine is usually a good one, in that it is a great opportunity for long-term planning, serious discussions and for attending to important paperwork.  Look to see where this trine is falling and which houses are ruled by Mercury (ones with Gemini and Virgo on them) and Saturn (ones with Capricorn and Aquarius on the cusp) in order to get a feel for what or who will respond well to this energy.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aquarius and/or Libra, then you are likely to feel this energy as being especially strong.

Venus Conjunct Pluto...

starts on February 9 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 10 at 12.54pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 11.  Both at 6 degrees and 39 minutes of Capricorn.

Intense meetings, either of ideas, people, areas of our lives or anything else are indicated by this join up of Venus and Pluto.  Venus represents our values and the way we relate, while Pluto represents transformation and intense emotions: the meeting up of this pair suggests that emotionally powerful new starts are possible now.

By looking at which houses are ruled by Venus (Taurus and Libra) and Pluto (Scorpio) you can get a feel for what or who may be joining forces in the birth chart.  For example if you have Taurus Rising then you'll have Scorpio on your 7th house cusp: there could be a passionate get together with your partner that sets the scene for a hot new start in your relationship... or it could be the start of a totally new relationship that has the power to transform you both (not just a romantic relationship - it could be any type of relationship).

If you have personal planets or points in Capricorn you are likely to experience this period of time as especially powerful.

Venus Square Jupiter...

starts on February 6 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 7 at 6.39am in Kilmore, leaves o February 8.  Venus at 2 degrees and 55 minutes of Capricorn, Jupiter at 2 degrees and 55 minutes of Aries.

Both Venus and Jupiter are planets known as 'benefics', as in they tend to bring the good things and people into our lives and/or attention.  However, too much of anything or anyone can sometimes NOT be a good thing!

Because the aspect between these two planets is a stressful one, it does suggest that there are areas of our lives where we may be overdoing things, or perhaps people represented by them are taking more than they are giving right now.

As usual, you can look to see where this aspect is falling within your birth chart, and also which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp) and Jupiter (ones with Sagittarius or Pisces on the cusp).

If you have personal planets or points in Capricorn or Aries, then you are likely to feel this energy more strongly than others.

Mars Trine Retrograde Saturn...

starts on February 5 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 7 at 4.16am in Kilmore, leaves on February 8.  Mars at 17 degrees and 6 minutes of Aquarius, retrograde Saturn at 17 degrees and 6 minutes of Libra.

Mars and Saturn don't usually work well together because of their differing natures, however, the trine is a great way for the energy of Mars to connect with the Saturn energy. Mars is about passion, drive, ego and energy - Saturn is about control, being methodical, precise and adds structure/boundaries. Combining the two through this trine, suggests that we all have the chance to build something in our lives succesfully... it's as though Saturn will be given a positive nudge (forget about a shove - Saturn isn't that quick!), that will help us all to achieve solid progress.  Clear communication may be part of the picture because of the air sign involvement.

As usual look to your own chart to see which areas of life or people are represented by these energies.

Sun Trine Retrograde Saturn...

starts on February 5 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 6 at 5.40pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 7.  Sun at 17 degrees and 7 minutes of Aquarius, retrograde Saturn at 17 degrees and 7 minutes of Libra.

Retrograde Saturn is still not moving very quickly since it only recently turned retrograde.  Symbolically, this stoppage suggests that the situations and people represented by Saturn are at a standstill or may seem as though they are not making any progress or changes at all.  Hang in there though, it's as though whatever or whoever is involved is in the process of getting ready to review recent developments or will go back to a previous state.

The Sun illuminates whatever it touches, and the trine to Saturn suggests that we have the opportunity to see what is happening now and to understand it a little better without our ego concerns getting the better of us.  This trine can also mean that the people and situations represented by the Sun will work well with the ones represented by Saturn.  Look to see where this trine is happening to get a feel, and also look to see which houses are ruled by the Sun (one with Leo on the cusp), and Saturn (ones with Capricorn or Aquarius on the cusp), to get a feel for what and/or who may be involved.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aquarius or Libra then this transit is likely to be especially important to you.

Venus enters Capricorn...

on February 4 at 4.58pm in Kilmore.

Venus moving from the carefree, adaptable and fun-loving Sagittarius, into the serious, hard-working and sometime 'cold' sign of Capricorn suggests a change in tone to what we consider 'fun'.  It can also mean that we have to become serious about the people and situations represented by this planet.

This planet represents our social skills, values and generally the way we relate to others, so the move into Capricorn may mean that we are a bit more introverted and cautious than usual, and careful with with we value.

Look to see which house Venus is travelling through, and which houses are ruled by her (Taurus and Libra), to get a feel for what or who may become more serious.

If you have personal planets or points in Capricorn, Venus travelling through your sign now suggests that you are entering a period of respite where a helpful person may be prominent.

Mercury enters Aquarius...

on February 4 at 9.19am in Kilmore.

Mercury moving from the serious and sombre Capricorn into the free-wheeling and stubborn sign of Aquarius suggests a change of mental mood.  It also suggests a change in the way the people and themes represented by Mercury in your birth chart operate over the next few weeks.

For example, I have Gemini on my 2nd House cusp, so I would expect it to be a bit easier for money to be flowing and for my finances to stabilise (Aquarius is a fixed sign).  Virgo also rules my 4th and 5th Houses, so I would also expect family situations and members to become more stable - perhaps stubborn!

The house that Mercury is in or moving to as it changes sign is also an area that you can expect to become much busier as it travels through it.  If you are an Aquarian, expect the next few weeks to be quite hectic!

New Moon in Aquarius...

on February 3 at 1.31pm in Kilmore at 13 degrees and 53 minutes of Aquarius.

The New Moon is generally a time for something or someone new to come into our lives... as described by where the lunation falls in your birth chart.  Usually, there is a lack of awareness of the importance of developments, so it may take time for us all to realise what the situations happening now actually mean for us later on down the track!

Being in the fixed, air sign of Aquarius suggests that either have to learn to be more stable in our thinking, or STOP being stubborn in the same way!  Either way there has to be a balance and a new way of approaching situations that are represented by this New Moon for us all.  Stability is likely to be important as part of this fresh start and also a new way of thinking and/or communicating since this lunation is in an air sign.

Looking at the aspects to this New Moon, the first one (and probably the most important one) is the close conjunction from Mars... as you probably know, this planet tends to fire up and energies whatever it touches: the conjunction is especially powerful in getting things moving!  Mars may represent a person, or simply being motivated to get moving with something or someone new as part of this lunation.

The good news with this New Moon is that we have Saturn trining it, suggesting that help and support from Saturn in stabilising the sometimes impulsive energy of Mars as part of the picture!  Positive growth and stability are indicated with this mix of energies.

Venus Square Uranus...

starts on February 2 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 2 at 11.47pm in Kilmore, leaves on February 3.  Venus at 28 degrees and 03 minutes of Sagittarius, Uranus at 28 degrees and 03 minutes of Pisces.

Venus, the planet of our values, relationships and pleasure connecting with Uranus by square is sure to put a bit of an unexpected 'electricity' into the people and situations represented by her in your birth chart.  This energy is only around for a couple of days so it probably won't be anything earth-shattering, but just surprising!

Uranus represents the rebel, or things just not going as you think they should... for me it's a bit like trying to kick a football - I never know which direction and how far it will go (especially when it bounces!).

So, by looking at where this transit is happening in your birth chart and which houses are ruled by Venus (ones with Taurus or Libra on the cusp), and Uranus (one with Aquarius on the cusp), you can get a feel for what or who may be bouncing erratically into or out of your life!

Those of you with personal planets and/or points in Sagittarius and/or Pisces may be particularly sensitive to this transit.

Sun Conjunct Mars...

starts on January 31 (using a 1 degree orb), is exact on February 5 at 3.40am in Kilmore, leaves on February 9.  Both at 15 degrees and 30 minutes of Aquarius.

A conjunction generally brings the opportunity for a fresh start, so this is the chance to let go of old ways of approaching the people and situations represented by this conjunction.

The involvement of both the Sun and Mars in this conjunction is likely to be a bit fiery, since both planets are ones associated with ego stuff... they are also both masculine planets so issues involving men may be more prominent than usual.  This conjunction between the Sun and Mars happens about every two years.

By looking at which house this conjunction falls in, and which house has Aquarius on the cusp, you can get a feel for where you have a major opportunity to make a fresh start and to let go of old ways of approaching situations/relationships.  You can also look to see which houses are ruled by the two planets involved (Sun = Leo on the cusp, Mars = Aries/Scorpio on the cusp) to get more detailed information about what or who is likely to be part of the story.

If you have personal planets and/or points in Aquarius then you are likely to be more sensitive than others to this fiery combination!
